Over the years I’ve lead literally hundreds of beer tastings but yesterday I got to lead the largest I’ve ever done, and possibly the largest beer tasting ever on planet Earth. Story time: Sometimes it’s good to step out of your comfort zone but take it from me, sometimes it’s best to just stay in your lane. I decided to get on top of my listing game and add videos to more of my listings. I had a weird out of body moment this morning when I decided screw it, I’m gonna switch things up a little and try things on for my listing videos so people can see what they look like on a human. It honestly didn’t feel like it was really a “me” decision but I decided to give it a shot anyway. I put on this green dress because I love it so I thought it would be a good piece to start with. It was pretty (okay extremely) snug going on but I was halfway there and sucked in everything as much as I could and got in on. The phone was falling all over while I tried to get the video shot so it took a zillion tries then after all that, the videos looked super dorky so I decided that’s okay, you tried something new but now let’s just abandon this plan and use the mannequin. After all, despite her lack of a head, she’s the professional in the room. And that’s when I realized I was stuck in the dress. Like really stuck. Like I had to do all sorts of weird moves, hoping I didn’t rip the dress or have to wait five humiliating hours till my husband gets home or grab some scissors to get this thing off. It was all sorts of stuck. Finally, I dug deep, found my inner imaginary contortionist and got the thing off in one piece, thankfully completely intact and unharmed (unlike my dignity). So yeah, it’s good to try new things but it’s also okay to know your strengths and limitations. I’ll be sticking to my flatlays and mannequin help from here on out...and hopefully not getting myself into any more sticky situations. What’s something you tried recently that was completely out of your comfort zone? Did you have better results?
