❌“I can’t lose weight because I don’t have the time” ❌“We eat out too much. I could never reach my goals” ❌“I work long/busy days. It’s easier to eat whatever is in front of me” Do any of these sound familiar? Look, I get it. We’re BUSY humans. We work long hours. Have to come home, help with homework, cook for the family, get showered, sleep, and I’m expecting you to find time for a workout?! The blunt honest truth? Yes, I am. You have time. However, YOU THINK you don’t have ENOUGH time. Example: 🐝2017-I was a full time college student. This was a 40 hour a week commitment(not including the 1-2 hour commute each day!) 🐝I worked full time (hello, bills). 🐝Devin and I were on complete opposite schedules. 🐝Add in cooking, cleaning, sleeping, basic self care, etc.. I was BUSY(and still am) But I was MISERABLE in my body. I knew I had no time to give.. so I found time. Mary, how do you “find time”? 🤍I parked farther away 🤍I researched “healthier options” at my usual fast food joints. 🤍I made it a priority to choose THREE DAYS A WEEK where I would move my body intentionally for 27 minutes. There are 168 hours a week. I had obligations that took 80 of those. I found the time because I couldn’t continue down the path I was on. Was it really hard? Yes. You know what’s harder? Living in a body that makes you miserable. Are you ready to find the time? SKINNY ❌ VS. 5 Things I’ve started doing everyday to stack my wins: 1. workout 6 days a week. I realized when I have a completely OFF day from the gym, I feel off in the middle of the week. So I use that 6th day as a recovery day. This includes core training, some cardio, mobility, and corrective exercise - all to make my 5 hard training days that much better🤌🏼 2. Drinking 100-120 oz of water per day. Guys, the AZ heat is drop kicking my soul into summer in the middle of May and I love it. So that also means my body needs more water. 3. Journaling. Sometimes it even takes me 3-5 minutes to make my brain relax before I start writing my thoughts down. Being present in the morning provides clarity later in the day. 4. Eating the same on rest/recovery days and training days. BIG game changer in overall mood and energy. Part of recovering from a workout is eating enough food. Todays food is tomorrow’s fuel. 5. Disconnecting at night. There are ALWAYS things to be done when you work for yourself. Work life balance is something I struggled with so much a few years ago. I don’t scroll as I’m laying in bed falling asleep. 4 Tage München gehen zu Ende. Davon war ich 2 Tage zum Training in einer CrossFit Box. Was ich ja so nie schaffe, weil nichts in meiner Nähe ist. Die Endorphine die mein Körper danach ausschüttet, sind vermutlich nicht mal messbar, weil sie jede Skala sprengen. Der Mix aus hohem Puls, Kraftanstrengung, Überwindung und der Tatsache, immer neue Bewegungsmuster zu erlernen um weiterzukommen, ist genau das, was ich brauche. Diese ständige Herausforderung. Für mich gibt es nichts Schlimmeres, als zu wenig Abwechslung zu haben. It’s been a while since I’ve updated you on my training… Over the last year I’ve split my training into two runs a week (one short & one long) with three gym sessions on top (one upper calisthenics focused day, one leg and one full body functional style days). About a month ago I sustained two injuries in the space of a short period of time; I have a labrel tear in my right shoulder and a tight left hip flexor. This has meant that I’ve not been able to train at the intensity I usually do and has made me think about how I want to progress whilst they heal. As you know I took part in a half marathon back in March and needless to say I’m now low key addicted to running 😂 so I’ve decided to bash out a triathlon because why the hell not!? My new training split is going to be one swim a week, two runs a week (one short & one long), an upper body and lower body calisthenics/strength focused day & one cycle a week. Needless to say I’m superrr excited to train differently and see what I’m capable of… and it will be nice to train in a way that allows my body to heal aswell. I’d be lying if I said I’ve been feeling good about training recently, getting an injury can feel like such a set back and failing exercises in the gym that I was breezing through before has been tough. Nothing wrong with inspirational comparison but when it comes to fitness, whether it be a body comp, fat loss or a performance goal, if you’re forever comparing yourself negatively to where you’re at compared to others, you’re only losing focus and concentration on your progress. It’s so easy to go down the rabbit hole of comparison especially on social media but that energy is taking away from where it’s needed - YOU. Also, you just don’t know the reality of that persons projection- not really. It may well be as it appears or but I’d like to guess they are riddled with struggles and insecurities elsewhere because everyone does! You don’t need to know though, you just need to focus on you and what’s working, what’s not and the reasons for this, with consistency. Use the energy spent comparing, on yourself and addressing the work that needs doing to reach your goals 🩷. Weekend recap, 7 year anni style 🥂 Spent the weekend doing a little bit of #fittofree challenge planning, took a few 5 min rehab walks with Nala 🦮🐾 but really tried to slow down, unplug, and spend a majority of the time being present with Landon; celebrating our 7 year anniversary ❤️ Ate a looooot of good food and spent little time on social media, highly recommend 🤟🏼 Signing back off, so I’ll catch y’all tmrw. Vixen’s Den, Einstein has the Q tomorrow for our big “Never Miss A Monday” event. We’ll start at 5:00am with warm-up. Come a minute earlier then usual so you can be set-up before we start. You’ll need mats and tubing. Weights will also be useful but not needed.
