Freshly thrown, mini flat lidded jars. Made with about a quarter of the weight of my other flat lidded jars. I love jars in my kitchen, especially all different shapes and sizes, these little ones could contain salt, pepper, spices etc. I'm waiting for them to firm up before I can trim the lids to fit the body perfectly.

Oh so fun! Created some test collagraphs this weekend using carborundum and acrylic medium on sealed matboard. I havent made ones for a while and its always great to return to it, like an old friend. After the mixture dried, I inked it in carbon black etching ink, hand wiped and created open white areas, then printed onto dampened arnhem printmaking paper. These tests are in preparation for successive monoprint color ink layers and other printmaking techniques which I plan to be full sheet size 22x30. #carborundumprints #inthestudio #collagraph #printmaking making #akuainks

Today, April 30, 1965, in The Beatles’ History, The Beatles continued filming their second film, “Help!” The scene in Help! in which an Asprey’s jeweller, played by Peter Copley, examines the ring stuck on Ringo’s finger, was filmed on 30 April 1965 at Twickenham Film Studios. Afterwards the ‘attempt number one’ scene, in which a magnetised lift attracted all metal objects to the walls apart from the ring, was filmed. It starred just John and Ringo. The main part of the day, however, was taken up with the scene in which The Beatles record ‘You’re Going To Lose That Girl’. This was supposedly set in EMI Studios, but was filmed in Twickenham.
