PAKSÉ - NOTRE AVIS 🇱🇦 Nous n'avons pas fait la boucle de Paksé car nous avons eu beaucoup de retours sur le fait que la boucle de Thakhek était mieux (nous l'avons donc faite) et nous ne voulions pas repartir pour 3 jours de boucle en scooter après avoir fait déjà 4 jours juste avant. Nous avons donc opté pour juste aller voir les incontournables aux alentours mais uniquement sur 1 journée. 진짜 요정 나올것같은 꽝시폭포 꽝시폭포에 햇살이 비치면 그 분위기가 너무나도 예쁘다. 툭툭타고 덜컹거리며 40분을 넘게 달려 도착한 꽝시폭포는 너무나도 유명한 관광지여서 많은 기대는 없었는데 너무 예뻤다. 유명한건 다 이유가 있군! Kuang si waterfall ☑️ 루앙프라방 올드타운에서 차량 50분 ☑️ 입장료 25,000낍 (한화 약 1,600원) ☑️ 아래쪽 폭포에서는 수영 가능했어요!

Well this was definitely one of the scariest things we’ve ever done. Up there with our skydive in South Africa. If you visit Vang Vieng, Laos you’ll definitely notice people high above you soaring in the sky, paramotoring. Unable to resist the lure of this high adrenaline activity, we plucked up the courage to take to the skies and embark on our first paramotor ride. WOW!! To say we were nervous was an understatement but the stunning views from up high were well worth the churning tummies! TDM semaine 43📍Muang Ngoy 🇱🇦 À Muang Ngoy nous avons vécu une belle expérience avec un guide du village. Nous sommes partis en bateau avec lui et son ami au petit matin. Au programme : pêche sur le fleuve pour se faire un barbecue le midi, petite balade dans la jungle et visite d’un village de tissage, perdu au bord du fleuve. Kuang Si Waterfall Local legend has it that the waterfalls were created when a village elder dug into the earth, revealing the waters of the Si river underneath. It was said that the echo from the waterfalls was so enchanting that it drew people to them from as far away as China, in the process it also attracted a beautiful golden deer to the falls who made its home there, sheltering under the rocks. Images from @elephantconservationcenterlaos from our visit this February. What a wonderful organization dedicated to conserving, protecting and reproducing Asian Elephants. Let’s just say its an uphill battle. Their future isn’t certain. The situation is dire, but this place and the people who work here are dedicated to the fight and these beautiful animals welfare. Many of the elephants are rescued logging elephants. Logging with elephants has now been banned in Laos but these animals were used often for more than 20 years working to the bone. It’s stressed their reproductive abilities and hindered their social growth, which we learned is paramount to the elephants success to mate and have babies. Each elephant is paired with a mahout, or caretaker. They will spend years and decades cultivating a relationship and trust with each other. It’s so beautiful to fully feel and experience as you’ll see in my images. It’s a critical and special bond and these mahouts are absolutely incredible humans. I wish I was half the man many of them are. The center also creates a natural environment as much as possible. Visitors don’t ride or touch the elephants. We keep our distance. They are given time to socialize each day with each other and are given routine health checks. They sleep in the jungle and get ample exercise and stimulation. This isn’t Disneyworld or a circus. If, you’re looking for places worthy of your donations, they could surely use it, and I can assure you it’s going to a wonderful cause. If anything, I hope my images can create awareness, you’ll share them far and wide, maybe you can send some money their way...and just maybe you’ll be inspired to visit yourself. I hope that’s my gift to people and incredible animals....these photographs.

A special lil moment from the Lao border that didn’t make it into our video. After we missed our boat, we spent the day working in our hotel room, and headed outside a little before sunset just to find some coffee. Not only did we end up finding the best iced vanilla latte in the world (in this random tiny little town??), but also a beautiful rooftop where we got to enjoy our first sunset over the Mekong River, something that would become one of our favorite regular activities throughout our time here. Laos may not have the same popularity as Thailand or Vietnam, but we had some of our absolute favorite experiences here. Laos is such a special country and lives very near and dear to our hearts 🥲 We hope you guys enjoy it as much as we did!

MONT PHOUSI - NOTRE AVIS 🇱🇦 Le mont Phousi est un super endroit pour avoir une vue à 360° sur la ville de Luang Prabang et le Mékong. Si vous êtes chanceux, vous pourrez même voir les avions atterrir ou décoller ✈️ C'est un endroit très très connu également pour le coucher de soleil, malheureusement il y a trop de monde ce qui enlève tout le charme selon nous... 30 days into our 100-day Asian trip, we have crossed the Mekong River into Laos from northern Thailand. We then took slow boat rides on the Mekong from Houay Xay to Pak Beng and then on to Luang Prabang, which we’ll stay for 4 nights. Great experiences on this river. We checked into our hotel at one place but had to ride a motorbike across town to the actual property! It was a bit scary. This morning our guest were able to partake in Alms giving ceremony at our local village near by the horses stables. They wake up early morning at 6 am and on foot they walk to the village to donate to the monks. This is an important tradition in Laos' Buddhist culture and is locally known as "Tak Bat" - the "Morning Alms Ceremony", when local devotees offer food (normally sticky rice & other cooked dishes) to them, as their main daily meal. Alms giving is practice every morning by the population, in general the elderly who prepare food for them. The second post about my trip to Luang Prabang. One of the few tourist spots, Kuang Si Waterfall, was one of the most pleasant and refreshing waterfalls I've ever been to. The water is clear, cold, and surrounded by nature. There were even fish that ate the dead skin off my feet.
