After a day of rest, we set out to explore our new surroundings in #vangvieng ! The thing is, this small rover town did not have the backing of UNESCO, and it was a big difference compared the #luangprabang . The roads were mostly dirt, the town only had two main streets, and the bridges were most definitely not up to code. But the one thing it did have is countryside vibe. I spent the day exploring the Luang Prabang area with the key attraction being Kuang Si Waterfall, located in a very dense rainforest full of massive trees. It is a place I visited earlier in life, but with little recollection, I enjoyed seeing it again and the memories slowly crept back into my mind. Thankfully, it wasn’t too crowded and with lots of shady areas to rest from the sun, it was a peaceful spot to relax for a while. I didn’t go for a swim, but many local kids were enjoying the cool water on a hot day. On the site, there is a rescue center for Laos’ two species of bears, moon bears and sun bears. Both are considered endangered due to poaching in the forests. Watching them play and eat was enjoyable. Upon return to the city, I stopped at the point where the Nam Khan River flows into the Mekong River. While the color differences were not as vibrant today in the dry season, the Nom Khan is known to be more blue in color while the Mekong a muddy brown, creating a unique sight where the two come together. It is mildly visible in my photo of their union. 진짜 요정 나올것같은 꽝시폭포 꽝시폭포에 햇살이 비치면 그 분위기가 너무나도 예쁘다. 툭툭타고 덜컹거리며 40분을 넘게 달려 도착한 꽝시폭포는 너무나도 유명한 관광지여서 많은 기대는 없었는데 너무 예뻤다. 유명한건 다 이유가 있군! Kuang si waterfall ☑️ 루앙프라방 올드타운에서 차량 50분 ☑️ 입장료 25,000낍 (한화 약 1,600원) ☑️ 아래쪽 폭포에서는 수영 가능했어요!
