I don't think I've seen a board book like these before, with a little path and disc to move around it. Have a swipe through the pictures to see what I mean! Thea is a huge fan of books about farms and farm animals, and thought both of these were brilliant. The combination of moving parts, great for developing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and concentration, and the look and find feature make both of these winners. Books Featuring Chicks! Easter is on the way (can you believe it?!?) and these gorgeous chick-filled books would make perfect reading during the Easter break. Counting Sheep Sam the sheepdog is tired and is starting to put all the other animals to bed. “Have you heard of counting sheep? Count yourselves and go to sleep.” but everyone is still awake, the sheep, horses, cows and especially the chickens - their eggs are hatching! Sam gathers all the farm animals to count the chicks as they hatch and soon everyone is snuggled up and snoring, including the 10 new chicks. We love the counting element to this book and there were lots of giggles when the animals get it wrong. This is a perfect bedtime story, sweet and soothing (well until the rooster wakes up) and perfect for winding down as my kids are often too busy and excited to sleep too. We love the farm setting of this book and Sam is the sweetest sheepdog. Let’s Go Home Baby Chick Use the counter to guide baby chick, lamb, calf and duckling back to their homes. With lots of vocabulary to learn and a seek and find element, this book is perfect for growing readers.
