I really love the exposed bolts and how they add to the torture chamber aesthetic. Plus, they remind me of Hellraiser. The bedazzling of the veil took several days, and all the skulls were cast and painted by hand. The gold leaf took nearly six hours as well. Onthullingsmoment 😍 Het blijft altijd weer spannend als je je beeld komt ophalen. Is het zoals je had verwacht... en had je uberhaupt iets verwacht? Bij het maken van de mal kun je vaak niet echt iets afleiden, behalve dan de houding die je zelf hebt uitgekozen.... maar van mal naar kunstwerk is een omvangrijk proces met veel tussentijdse stappen. Gelukkig zien we in de praktijk altijd blije en verraste gezichten. Het klinkt bijzonder en ongeloofwaardig maar de uitspraak "het is nog veel mooier dan ik had verwacht" horen we bijna dagelijks. Dan doen we toch iets goed, zou je zeggen. Dat klopt ten dele, want een mooi kunstwerk maak je samen... een samenspel tussen bodycaster en jou als gezinslid, ouder, opa, oma of kind. Wanneer mogen we jou ontmoeten?

Zo wordt dit kleine wondertje nu al op handen gedragen door mama én papa. Ze kozen voor ons warme bronzen kleurtje (dat de laatste tijd wel vaker gekozen wordt 😉) en het beeld komt op een korte sokkel. Something I do a lot of but don't always get to show are these style memorial casts. Often taken with a DIY kit which I thoroughly recommend if time is short, or no caster is spare. I help families take these moments and restore them into solid metal or cold cast metal keepsakes. So the casting problems are gone and their hands can be held again without fear of damage with handling. I cannot recommend enough to turn plaster casts into cold cast metal or foundry metal. As this moments cannot be repeated. So not only is there a permanent mould, the cast made, is strong and won't shatter like plaster. It takes time to build up the missing moments but I know how much they mean. This one meant a lot. I can still feel the hug now ❤️
