It's very unusual for us to take Zelda and Timmy out for a walk in the morning 😆 Anyway, while we were out on our walk, there were still heaps of hail stones in the shaded parts of the grasses! 🧊❄️
One of the best things you can do to enhance your session is to allow yourself to relax and trust the moment, like these two! 😍 This was honestly my first time shooting during true golden hour and there were a few learning curves for myself, but S & T were amazing with going with the flow! Some takeaways from this session; 1. Sunsets can give off some really harsh light!! I learned really quickly that the angle of the lens and secondary light is super important 2. Backlighting was key in this location and it’s something I want to learn more about 3. You can never truly assume the situation so it’s important to be creative and adaptable! For example, using trees to soften the sunlight and positioning the couple to block the shadows on one another 4. Movement prompts are soooo much fun! What a week! Here is the story of how life was both hard and rewarding this week. The lynchpin piece of information you need to understand this is that my 91 year old mother in law fell last weekend and injured her lower back/ tailbone. Over the past few days, we've been getting x-rays, CT scans, attempting to communicate with an obviously overloaded medical system here in Bozeman, and managing pain. Fortunately, my mother-in-law is a gem. Unfortunately, the capacity of the medical system to meet her needs is severely compromised. I could rant about this all day, but it would be inpolite to say the things I'm thinking. But as of this post, she has been left in complete limbo by an inability of the medical team to communicate to us over the past 48 hours. As a result, I've been toting my computer to my mother-in-laws house and working between caregiving opportunities. While this is not ideal, it is functional! I'm elated that I got caught up in my editing queue. I'm prepped for a weekend of capturing women at a retreat and then a Sunday wedding. (So the editing queue will be full again.) I'm sheperding several women towards an empowering and exciting intimate portrait experience in the next number of weeks. I'm serving my bridal clients with information and scheduling help. I'm getting some life education about how to grow older with grace and a good attitude through the example of my mother-in-law.
