祝200周年！ 1824年の今日5月7日、あの「第九」、ベートーヴェンの交響曲第九番がウィーンで初演されました。曲をご存じない方は、たぶんいらっしゃらないかと。「名曲」とはこの曲のために作られた言葉と言っても、信じちゃう人がいるかも、というくらいの名曲。 「名演の森」といっていい第九ですが、今日僕が出してきたのは王道中の王道、カール・ベーム指揮ウィーン・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団。録音は1970年。ベームをご存知の方は録音年だけでもワクワクしますよね、まさに全盛期の指揮。 ベームというと年齢を重ねるに連れ「巨匠的」スローテンポになっていき、特に晩年の「第九」などなかなかつらい部分もあります。 1970年の演奏もテンポはやや遅めです。しかし、弛緩したところは一瞬もありません。この時代らしい壮大なスタイルですが、どの楽器のどの音符も、ひとつもおろそかにしない緻密なものです。それでいて（例えばジョージ・セルのような）正確であることをモットーとしたような厳格さとも違う、細部にまで血が通ったような内容です。 特に終楽章。独唱はもちろん合唱も最上級に素晴らしい。クレジットを見ると合唱は国立歌劇場合唱団。楽友協会との格の違いを見せつけるような名唱。 僕はカラヤンの第九（70年代録音のもの）を「一番！」と思うほど好きなのですが、第4楽章に関してはこのベーム版にはかないません。「名演」とはこの演奏のために作られた言葉と言っても、信じちゃう人がいるかも、というくらいの名演。 大型連休が去り、日常が戻ってきました。思いはさまざま。 そんな今朝は、この名曲×名演の「歓喜」で頭（こうべ）を上げていきましょう。 みんな、こんなんじゃダメ！ もっともっと、最高に素晴らしい歌を 一緒に歌おうぜ！ （ベートーヴェン交響曲第九番「合唱付」第4楽章バリトン独唱の冒頭を拙訳） #第九 #ベートーヴェン交響曲第9番 #ludwigvanbeethoven #beethoven #karlböhm #classicalmusic #クラシック音楽 #カールベーム

旧岩崎邸庭園で弦楽四重奏コンサートを鑑賞しました。一曲目のベートーヴェン「String Quartet No.2, Op.18 No.2」の第一楽章は、挨拶 という別名があるという紹介でした。私は知らなかったため、勉強になりました。バイオリンのサロンコンサートの一曲目は、エルガーの 愛の挨拶 が定番のため、今日の曲は新鮮な印象を受けて良かったです。 2曲目は、ベートーヴェンの曲という紹介でしたが、私の不勉強のため、どの作品番号の曲か判りませんでした。 3曲目は、ドビュッシーの作品で、ベートーヴェンとは全く異なり、50年ほど離れていると、これほど違うのかという感じがしました。 アンコールの 浜辺の歌 は一番馴染みのある曲で、ホッと安心した気持ちで帰路につきました😊 This is a record of the concert. 200 years – Beethoven‘s 9th Post 1 In Vienna after all: the first performance of Beethoven's Ninth took place on 7 May exactly 200 years ago at the Kärntnertortheater. It almost didn't happen: Beethoven was working on his Ninth Symphony while preparing for a trip to London, which then never materialized. When the work was finished, Beethoven tried to get it premiered in Berlin. The "Rossini frenzy" in Vienna, which had taken hold of the city during the Italian composer's visit, was too great for him. In the end, however, he gave in to the request of 30 friends and admirers; the premiere was to take place in Vienna! This event was not easy to organize. There were complications with the choice of date, location, performers, ticket prices and even with the censors, who objected to the performance of the "Missa solemnis", which had been completed shortly before and was also to be performed in excerpts, at a theater. The 9th Symphony was finally on the program of the Kärntnertortheater on 7 May 1824, together with the overture "Die Weihe des Hauses" and "Drei Hymnen", as the movements of the "Missa solemnis" had to be called for censorship reasons. Beethoven stood next to the conductor Michael Umlauf. Although he was unable to conduct due to his deafness, he did set the tempi for each movement. At one point in the symphony (probably after the second movement), the audience burst into thunderous applause. The deaf composer, facing the orchestra, did not notice this until he was turned around by the alto soloist Caroline Unger and allowed to experience the success of his composition. One review praised how Beethoven's "inexhaustible genius opened up a new world for us with this performance, unveiling never-heard, never-imagined miraculous secrets of sacred art!" La mundialmente famosa melodía Para Elisa, compuesta por Ludwig van Beethoven en 1810, fue publicada en 1867 por un joven musicólogo llamado Ludwig Nohl, quien aseguraba haberla encontrado entre los cuadernos del compositor. Existen diversas versiones que explican a quién dedicó Beethoven esta melodía, quién era Elisa. Una de ellas cuenta que el 27 de abril de 1810 el compositor acudió al recital de una niña con enorme talento para el piano. Efectivamente, la jovencita demostró sus dotes musicales, hasta que tuvo que interpretar una obra del compositor ahí presente, entonces fue incapaz de tocarla y, entre lágrimas, salió corriendo de la sala. Beethoven la alcanzó y le preguntó qué le había impedido ejecutar su pieza. Ella contestó que sus melodías eran muy difíciles de tocar, entonces el músico le prometió escribir una obra sólo para ella. Al día siguiente, la chica recibió una partitura del genial compositor, con una dedicatoria: “Para Therese, recuerdos del 27 de abril de 1810”… ¡La niña no se llamaba Elisa! Al parecer Nohl leyó mal y cambió el nombre de la pequeña pianista. This recording has really unlocked Beethoven’s triple concerto for me. It’s stunningly captured with deep bass where needed. Every solo violin and cello note is tense and riveting, yet never at the expense of forward motion. The slow movement keeps you on the edge of your seat… just… wow! Fra qualche giorno arriva un compleanno speciale: la Nona Sinfonia di Beethoven compie infatti 200 anni. La Nona Sinfonia fu composta per la Società Filarmonica di Londra, ma questa ricevette il manoscritto solo dopo la prima esecuzione, che ebbe luogo a Vienna, al teatro di Porta Carinzia, il 7 maggio 1824,con un grande successo di pubblico, presente Beethoven ormai completamente sordo. “L’esecuzione – racconta A.W. Thayer, biografo del Maestro – era lungi dall’essere perfetta. Ci fu una mancanza di potenza omogenea, una scarsità di sfumature, una cattiva distribuzione di luci ed ombre. Tuttavia per quanto strana dovesse essere sembrata la musica al pubblico, l’impressione che suscitò fu profonda, e gli applausi che suscitò entusiastici con gli ascoltatori che a stento riuscivano a trattenersi… Beethoven, assorbito dalla musica che seguiva nella sua mente, era ignaro degli applausi… stava ancora fissando la sua partitura, quando la contralta Caroline Unger, la cui felicità si può immaginare, lo prese per la manica e diresse la sua attenzione alle mani che battevano e si agitavano per la gioia insieme a cappelli e fazzoletti. Poi Beethoven si rivolse al pubblico e si inchinò. Mai nella vita ho sentito applausi così frenetici e allo stesso tempo cordiali; ad un certo punto il secondo movimento della sinfonia è stato interrotto da applausi e c’è stata una richiesta di ripetizione; l’applauso scoppiò in una tempesta quattro volte. Although tonight's concert at the beautiful Teatro alla Scala wasn't the reason for this trip, if you have the opportunity to see legendary conductor Zubin Mehta with the Filarmonica della Scala in this breathtaking opera house, you better take this chance. Of course, Beethoven's music is probably not core competence of an Italian orchestra, but this interpretation of his overture "Leonore III" was rather disappointing. Too slow and a lack of intensity and energy. A dull experience, but the orchestra was definitely better prepared for Mendelssohn Bartholdy's "Violinkonzert in E-Moll op. 64 (Concerto in E minor for violin and orchestra)", stunningly played by fabulous violinist Maxim Vengerov. Well, that was really impressive and Mendelssohn Bartholdy's composition is just wonderful. Frenetic applause for Vengerov, who played Johann Sebastian Bach's "Adagio" as encore. After the break the orchestra played Beethoven's "Symphonie Nr. 7 in A-Dur op. 92". A fantastic piece of music and the orchestra showed a praiseworthy performance. Long lasting and enthusiastic applause for Zubin Mehta, who conducted the entire concert from memory. It felt special to witness this living legend, especially at the Teatro alla Scala, and yes, it's pure luxury to have the opportunity to make this trip. 30 weeks ago, beastly terrorists attacked Israel on October 7th. My #adventuresinmusic review (🔗in bio) ”Absolute feast - John Adams conducts @juilliardschool Orchestra” The joy of music-making was tangible at the David Geffen Hall on Monday evening, as the Juilliard Orchestra delivered a veritable sounding feast under John Adams’s vigorous direction. Performing on the top of their game, the orchestra rendered an uplifting set-list of musical works, culminating in Adams’s mischievously brilliant Absolute Jest (2011/2012) for string quartet and orchestra, featuring @thedolphinsquartet as its fully committed soloists. Ludwig van Beethoven’s Overture to Fidelio, op. 72 (1814) served as the evening’s spirited preamble, whereas the second half took the audience on a journey through the sensuous realms of Claude Debussy’s Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune (1892-94) and Ibéria (1905-08). Rendered with astounding intensity and zeal by the Juilliard Orchestra conducted by the composer, Absolute Jest was given a terrific workout, one paying heed to rhythmic propulsion and nuanced detail in equal measure. Commanding their virtuosic solo parts with clarity and dexterity, the members of the Dolphins, Luke Henderson, first violin, Isaac Park, second violin, Ian Maloney, viola, and James Preucil, cello, embraced the multitude of Adams’s quartet textures wholeheartedly from start to finish, interlocking with each other in seamless manner. Beautifully aligned in time and dynamics under the composer’s baton, the fabric of Absolute Jest was unraveled with absorbing musicality. Fuga adalah sebuah komposisi yang memiliki beberapa bagian suara sehingga terkesan dimainkan oleh lebih dari satu orang. Claudio Arrau adalah seorang maestro Piano yang menurut saya berhasil memainkan bagian Fuga dengan tempo dan artikulasi yang tepat. Biasanya bagian tersebut dimainkan terlalu cepat atau terlalu lambat.
