There’s lots of amazing creations on sale in the shop and a craft fare in the arcade itself. I’ll be in the back of the shop with my trusty irons and lots of lovely waxes. If you’ve never had a go of this craft before you’ll be amazed at how quickly you can create a beautiful abstract piece of art, it’s a very simple technique that anyone can do, even young children with adult supervision as it uses an iron on a low temperature. I’ll be charging £3 per work of art and there will be the option to make you painting into a greeting card/sfor an extra 50p per card. This is my very first painting from my #newstudio with @collaborarti on the @piazzacentre. Woohoo! I don’t really like it much, I might work into it at some point, but it’s done. It’s hard to explain the anxiety that can build up when wanting to create, if you’re an artist you’ll no doubt get it. It can seem like a really big deal. I wanted my first painting in my new space to be amazing!! But I realised it probably wasn’t going to be as I’ve not worked in oils for a while and just artists nerves/new space nerves/general creation nerves. And I was ok with that. So I just painted something, anything. And then i organised my paints (all 99 of them) and took some more selfies,(this is definitely gonna be a thing in my new space!) made a list of things I need to bring from home, things I need to get. And then I freaked out because it seemed someone had been in upstairs and turned the lights out so I was well and truly spooked by that! Anyway, trying not to think about it until if I can find out on Monday if it was the security guards. #spooky but apart from that, it was a good sesh!! Oh and I got some fabric medium for future fun. I called this painting “sentinel” because it reminded me of something standing watch over who knows what. As someone that suffers from paranoia at times, feeling like someone or something is watching me and knows what I am thinking etc, that’s kind of giving me the creeps a little.it wasn’t a conscious thought while I was painting it but it became apparent afterwards.
