Just look at these beautiful wood sculptures and objects by Greg Kent 🤩 Greg will be exhibiting with us at our Summer Exhibition here at the Sculpture Lounge (weekends 22nd June - 14th July) and we can't wait to display his work! Greg diligently collects wood from local tree surgeons that would have been used as firewood. Grey turns the wood to a thickness of 2mm before he allows it to dry. Greg then sandblasts the pieces, which has the effect of removing the soft spring growth, leaving a beautiful lace-like effect. It’s been lovely to create the new branding for local honey producer Holme Valley Honey. I created a two part logo; a larger version featuring the Heather and Hawthorn flowers that make up their two main honey products and a secondary mini version to use where space is limited. The new brand will be rolled out over the coming weeks starting off with some rather luxurious business cards made up of a yellow core layer sandwiched between two layers of Kraft card. A sketch to say I'm home! So on a chilled Sunday, me and @sophiekatemyerscough went for a mooch around our favourite local town and i found a perfect lil wall to perch on with a view... Also, (as these photos will tell you) when I'm sat perched on a wall sketching, it does look like I'm either really sad, sulking with my head on my chest OR that I'm playing with myself... I almost chopped this piece up last year but I’m glad I didn’t because it’s just sold at Vermilion Gallery.
