Last year today, I left for Japan 😭 I’m taking a Japanese Civilization class rn to learn more about my heritage. This is the Meiji Shrine. It is to honor Emperor Meiji and Empress Shōken. They were part of the Meiji Restoration in 1868 which ended Japanese feudalism, including the samurai class, and restoring power back to the emperor. This was in response to internal conflicts within the country, as well as Western influence. Japan was an isolationist country and many European countries tried to get Japan to open trade with them. It wasn’t until 1853 when United States Commander, Matthew Perry (yeah, I know, but not “Friends” MP), showed up to Japan with battleships and “persuaded” Japan to open trade with the US. Japan decided they must unify and strengthen their government and modernize to keep the West from conquering. Meiji means “Enlightened Rule” in Japanese. #japan #meiji #meijishrine

每年大約10月開始日本各地陸續進入紅葉季，而東京身為日本實質上的首都，有許多為天皇打造的賞景之地，東京的都樹又正好是銀杏，幾乎可以說是隨處可見，在去年的箱根之旅後，回到東京可以說是每天都捨不得不出門。 紅葉在日本其實是泛指植物的葉子變色的現象，雖然在當季的紅葉情報中是以楓葉為主，但通常也會包括銀杏，而銀杏的觀賞期比櫻花或楓葉稍微長一些，以東京來說在11月中到12月中都還看得到。 當初決定去東京長住的其中一個目的就是不用像一般旅遊一樣時間那麼緊迫，可以好好的體驗日本生活的樣子。去年12月的第一個周末看天氣大好，隨意的決定從原宿繞一圈明治神宮和代代木公園，悠閒又隨意地走進代代木公園閒晃，不知不覺就快用完一整個白天，晚上還去了世界有名的神宮外苑銀杏大道，可以明顯感受到日本的假日充滿了活力，跟平時上班日完全是不同的感覺，還剛好碰到台灣的朋友。 然後隔一周想帶同學去才發現，這一天剛好撿到神宮外苑銀杏大道的最後一天夜間點燈😂 就說我平常都不買彩券什麼的，把運氣留在這種地方也是不錯對吧~ #taiwanese #japan #travel #tokyo #harajuku #meijijingu #meijishrine #yoyogipark #ginkgo #momiji #koyo #明治神宮 #代々木公園 #いちょう #紅葉 #panasonic #lumix #g95

Viaggio in Giappone 🌸⛩️ Day 3 - parte 2 ㅤ Dopo aver visitato Harajuku e Omotesandō, ci siamo diretti verso il vicino santuario Meiji e lo Yoyogi Park. Il Meiji Jingu è stato uno dei posti che mi ha colpito di più, ho adorato che fosse così immerso nella natura e pieno di verde. Era come entrare magicamente in una foresta dentro Tokyo. Il fatto che il santuario poi avesse le strutture in legno, davano un'aria di misticismo e antichità che ho scoperto piacermi particolarmente del Giappone. Il Meiji Jingu è uno di quei santuari grandissimi che ho incontrato in Giappone ed è qui che io e Francesco abbiamo scritto il nostro primo e unico ema, ovvero la tavoletta votiva dove si esprime un desiderio o si fa una preghiera e si appende nella speranza che i Kami possano leggerli e possano avverarsi. Mi è piaciuto molto che lo "stand" dove appendere l'ema fosse circolare e ruotasse attorno all'albero. Lo Yoyogi Park l'abbiamo visitato di fretta, speravo di trovarci distese di sakura, ma l'ondata di freddo che aveva colpito il Giappone i giorni precedenti ha ritardato la fioritura dei ciliegi, perciò ci siamo riposati quel poco che bastava e ci siamo ripromessi di ritornarci gli ultimi giorni del viaggio (spoiler: non ci siamo tornati più poi, però i sakura li abbiamo visti comunque altrove). Ci siamo poi diretti verso lo Shibuya Sky, avendo la prenotazione un'ora prima del tramonto, per poter osservare la città nell'ora più magica! Durante la strada c'era su uno schermo gigante la pubblicità del concerto dei Måneskin con la canzone "Honey are you coming" a tutto volume 😅 Arrivati allo Shibuya Sky, siamo andati fino all'ultimo piano dove c'è una grandissima terrazza che affaccia su tutta Shibuya. Consiglio chiunque vada allo Shibuya Sky, soprattutto nell'ora del tramonto, di non fare il nostro stesso errore e salire prima fino alla cima dell'attrazione e farsi fare le foto dal fotografo durante il tramonto. 📍Tokyo, Japon 🇯🇵 ⛩️ Sanctuaire Meiji Jingu Le sanctuaire Meiji, construit en 1920 pour honorer l’empereur Meiji, est situé dans le quartier Yoyogi de Tokyo, près de Shinjuku. Entouré de verdure, il offre une atmosphère paisible et rurale, contrastant avec le tumulte de la ville. Accessible depuis les gares de Harajuku ou de Yoyogi, il constitue l’un des sites shinto les plus visités du Japon, à proximité du parc Yoyogi et du stade national de Yoyogi, construit pour les Jeux olympiques de 1964. 📚Le sanctuaire Meiji, achevé en 1920, est dédié à l’empereur Meiji et à l’impératrice Shoken, symbolisant une période de transformation du Japon. Après leur décès, il est reconstruit en 1958 suite à sa destruction pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, devenant un lieu majeur de vénération et de rassemblement pour les Japonais. Le sanctuaire Meiji Jingu présente deux imposantes portes torii mesurant 40 pieds de haut, marquant l’entrée symbolique dans un lieu sacré. Le chemin menant aux bâtiments du sanctuaire est bordé de majestueux cèdres, offrant une atmosphère sereine et recueillie. L’un des points forts du sanctuaire est son jardin intérieur, où plus de 150 espèces d’iris fleurissent à la fin juin, conçu par l’empereur Meiji lui-même pour le plaisir de son épouse. La maison du trésor expose des portraits d’anciens empereurs japonais et des effets personnels du couple royal, tandis que d’autres bâtiments remarquables incluent un Kaguraden pour les danses sacrées et diverses portes telles que Minami Shinmon et Gehaiden.
