Main actors Lily Farhadpourn and Esmail Mehrabi attended the beautiful screening with a photograph of the directors who could not attend because the government of their home country, Iran, confiscated their passports and imposed a travel ban. The screening was followed by a standing ovation and the film was awarded with two awards; the Fipresci prize handed out by international film critics, and the top prize from the Ecumenical jury for a film in the Berlinale competition. The film tells the story about Mahin (70) lives alone in Tehran since her husband’s death and her daughter’s departure for Europe, until an afternoon tea with friends leads her to break her solitary routine and revitalize her love life. But as Mahin opens herself up to new romance, what begins as an unexpected encounter quickly evolves into an unpredictable, unforgettable evening. . بسیار مفتخرم که اعلام نمایم فیلم سینمایی "کیک محبوب من" برای نمایش در بخش مسابقه هفتاد و چهارمین جشنواره بین المللی فیلم برلین انتخاب شده است. افتخاری که بعد از نمایش فیلم "قصیده گاو سفید" در بخش مسابقه این جشنواره مهم، برای دومین بار نصیب من و مریم و فیلم ما می‌شود. "کیک محبوب من" چه در طول فیلمبرداری و چه در مراحل پس تولید و تا همین امروز، مسیری سخت و پرچالش را پشت سر گذاشته و این مسیر عجیب و پرپیچ و خم آنرا تبدیل به سخت‌ترین فیلم زندگی ما تا به اینجا کرده. نمیدانم از عوامل و بازیگرانِ به غایت هنرمند این اثر که شجاعانه پای ساخت این فیلم ایستادند با چه زبانی باید تشکر کرد. بدیهی است که این حضور ارزشمند حاصل زحمات گروهی است که مخاطرات ساخت چنین فیلمی را به جان خریدند تا بتوانند اثری صادقانه و شبیه به زندگی بسازند. به امید آنکه دوستان و همکاران من در این فیلم، با رفع شدن موانع خروج از کشور، بتوانند نماینده شایسته‌‌ی سینمای مستقل ایران در این جشنواره مهم باشند. آمین. A great honor that has been given to me and Maryam and our film for the second time after the screening of the movie "Ballad of a White Cow" in competition section of Berlinale 2021. "My favourite cake" has gone through a difficult and challenging path both during the shooting and in the post-production stages and until today, and this strange and winding path has made it the most difficult film of our life so far.
