It was a privilege to compete in Brasil the last 4 months and take home not only my first victory, but 3rd place at Brazilian Nationals! 🇧🇷 The Jiu Jitsu journey is a long and tough process. This has been my hardest. Each match I could feel the “almost” moment before I’d lose it. It’s true, it takes time, dedication and hard work to bring the right pieces together. This is where I find God tests the spirit and molds it to his liking 🪽 Thank you to the strong woman by my side this whole time @sabrinasavi_ Since I met you in Jan, you were the most intense training partner I had combined with a beautiful soul to help. I’ll never forget the truths you spoke about my broken game haha. It helped me break out of the tide I was trapped in! #toughlove Not only a training partner, you are a friend and one of the best coaches I’ve ever had. Supporting me even after watching the many losses I had. You never lost faith in me. I didn’t come to Brasil expecting to be Champion. I came to heal and discover my jiu jitsu again, help others, and to learn. I am blessed to have accomplished all of this, as hard as moments were.(Nearly came home twice) But God sent so many people my way from near and far, it has been a beautiful testimony to his never ending love. After I suffered a bad injury I returned home for a moment and took some lessons from @bibianofernandes & @flashacademymartialarts where Bibi did not need to take the time with me barely knowing me, but he did. And he had no idea what I was going through off the mats, with the lack of support I was receiving & a broken heart. But he was another light in the darkness that went above and beyond. To me, it’s important to witness good people who achieve success. Because a lot of the time, people who reach the top don’t commonly have a good soul. I applied all of my teachings and broke so many barriers fighting in Brasil. Facing fears head on. And now I’m on top of a podium, porque Deus. A day not to be missed as Royal Logistic Corps regiments from across the country come to Sledmere to take part in the multiple events of the Wagoners Challenge to see who will become the Wagoners Champions 2024! This is the third year of the competition and is set to be bigger and better than ever! 150 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps have teamed up with the Museum of the Wagoners Special Reserve and Sledmere to create this hard fought competition to see who will be crowned Wagoners Champions 2024. The Royal Logistic Corps are the soldiers in today’s army who have inherited the role of the men from the Wagoners Special Reserve who fought in WWI. The events in the competition will tell the story of the Wagoners and their journey from farms to the front. The challenges are designed to replicate the training associated with the Wagoners’ when the Unit was preparing for World War One in 1914, including: - Long Reining Horses - The Bale Challenge - Showing in Hand - Driving the General Service Wagon - Tug of War Visitors will also get to hear music from 150 Regiment Band and to see the Khukuri Dance from the Queen’s Own Ghurkha Logistic Regiment. There will be a demonstration of the museum’s Horse Ambulance and there will be information stands, vehicles on display and exciting activities and inflatables for children. Today’s featured finalist is the impressive cellist Leland Ko! (@lpkocello) Leland, a cellist of Chinese-Canadian descent, has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in venues across America’s east coast, such as Merkin Concert Hall and Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall in New York, and Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall, and Sanders Theatre in Boston, as well as internationally in Belgium, Italy, Sweden, Israel, and Spain! Most recently, Leland has won first prizes at the 2023 inaugural Boston Concert Artist Society auditions, the 2023 National Federation of Music Clubs Young Artist Competition, and the 2023 Hong Kong Generation Next Arts International Music Competition. Not only did I enter my very first WI (Women’s Institute N Ireland) competition, I came first in my own WI group. Patchwork is new to me and thanks to my wonderful tutor and friend @lulus_stash, I was able to make my cushion. I really enjoyed coming up with my design and researching/learning about the WI. I was able to use my embroidery skills and some vintage fabric, that I had. Also, another lovely friend @fken16, crocheted me my beautiful 1st rosette. I’m super proud of myself, as I dislike machine sewing and cutting fabric for patchwork, needs to be precise. I’m enjoying the challenge and I love attending my quilting/patchwork class every week. ⚡️🏃🏻♀️ ¡¡Mi mami y yo SOMOS MARATONIANAS!! 🏃🏻♀️⚡️ No tenía muchas esperanzas de mi misma porque ni estoy en mi mejor forma física, salgo de una lesión que aún me da guerra, no tengo el descanso suficiente, no tengo una alimentación adecuada, ni este mes ha sido el más indicado ya que han sido muchos cambios en mi vida con la mudanza a Donosti. Pero como siempre me repito, los genes están ahí, y aunque estuviera desde enero visitando al fisio más que entrenando, he podido completarlo y sobre todo, aún así con los dolores desde el minuto 1, a partir del km 35 me ha entrado la motivación y el chute de energía para poder mejorar un poco el ritmo tan suave que llevábamos por precaución. Guerrières ensemble. ⚔️ Le sport a toujours fait partie de ma vie. Depuis 2 ans maintenant j’ai trouvé mon domaine d’épanouissement au travers du Muay thaï. Accompagnée par une coach avec qui j’ai créé une relation allant au delà de l’élève et de la coach, elle m’a élevé au travers de ces enseignements jusqu’à à être Vice-championne de France de K1 en light contact de -65kg pour ma 1re année de compétition. 🥈 Je suis reconnaissante envers @gabis_online mais aussi mon Dojo @fitnfightdojo qui me voit et me verra encore évoluée dans ce domaine. 🙏🏻
Trainings recap . Diese Woche war ich sehr zufrieden, gleich 2 171er, 2 180er und endlich auch mal einen Average über 70 gespielt. Um es zu präzisieren, 73,92 waren es und damit 6 Punkte über meinem bisherigen Rekord 67,30. Der aktuelle Monatsschnitt liegt zwar nur knapp über 51 und die Doppel zicken ein wenig, aber dennoch bin ich mit den letzten Tagen sehr zufrieden. Vandaag gingen we weer is op dressuur wedstrijd, gelukkig een keertje dicht bij huis @manegebalansdreischor georganiseerd door @rv_de_schouwseruiters gezellig samen met @evelyne.zirkzee Dressuur tja iedereen die me al langer volgt weet dat het niet zo me ding is 🤣 met Coco al niet... We deden liever springen en crossen 🚀 Met hem verbaasde het me dat ik in de eventing uiteindelijk een leuke L proef neer kon zetten 🤩 Met Zor ging het al steeds wat beter... Maar vandaag hebben we toch wel iets gedaan waarvan ik nooit van had gedacht dat we het ooit zouden doen 🤣 Ik had er niet eens over nagedacht dat het mogelijk zou zijn 🙈 Ik was zelf ook niet super te vreden na mijn proeven, er waren nog zo veel punten die heel veel beter konden na mijn mening 😅 Mijn moeder en Eef zeiden dat het er echt wel oke uit zag... Maar pas toen ik mijn protocollen kreeg kon ik het zelf toch ook wel geloven... De jury beloonde ons met 214 en 207 punten.... en 2 x 🥇 En @evelyne.zirkzee ook gewoon 2 x 🥇 en samen 8 winstpunten mee naar huis!🥳 Kan nu toch wel zeggen dat ik trots op ons en onze ponies ben 🥰 Nu weer verder trainen voor @grandorsehorsetrials volgende week! 💪
