A little surprise beach Minjerribah/North Stradbroke Island is home to several lengthy stretches of sand. But if you're looking for something a bit more cosy, South Gorge Beach might be just the ticket. Tucked in next to 33km-long Main Beach, South Gorge Beach is a little surprise that can't be seen from the road. The sign says not to swim… but people do. Last year I was invited to design the 2024 @brisbanebroncos Indigenous Round & @deadlychoices Round jersey. As part of the design development process, team members Kotoni Staggs, Selwyn Cobbo, Reece Walsh, Ezra Mam, Jordan Riki, and Tristan Sailor participated in a workshop I ran at the club last winter and were heavily involved in the design of their own jerseys. On Monday April 22, as part of the arrangements, team members - @kotonistaggs1 @selwyn_a_cobbo @jordanriki @ezra.mam @tristansailor Captain @rendiggiti7 coaches @kevinwalters6 Lee Briers travelled to the island and met with @straddiesharks_allsportsclub junior players from Dunwich State School and club + community members. We spent the afternoon in Goompi - Dunwich, with further workshops on the beach and in the saltwater with my family. Loved the excitement, conversations - particularly knowing this was the players day off. The Jersey will be revealed in Indigenous Round, during Reconciliation Week, and ready for their game against the @gctitans on Sunday May 26 at @suncorpstadium with kick off at 2pm.
