În căutarea unor ornamente cu sens, încercând să înțeleg semnificația acestor motive vechi românești, și eu m-am inspirat din delicatețea broderiilor pe fire numărate de pe cămășile de sărbătoare, sau mai recent din ”broderia pe scrisoare”, atât de viu colorată, a pieptarelor din piele. Saturday 6th April Cory's football is already flat - we will not hear the last of this! He has also been complaining of an intermittent ear ache since we got here so needed to go to the pharmacy so said we will get one from the shop next door as that was the last one in the shop on site yesterday… We wanted to go to Lindos today. I knew there was a bus, what I didn't realise was that the winter timetable is shocking and the summer one starts the day we leave!! So we decided to hire a car for a few days. Whilst we had a car, we thought we would go to Farma of Rhodes petting zoo. Turns out the massive shop next to the pharmacy that has all manner of toys and beach stuff has zero balls! That's fine, tomorrow we will definitely find one in Rhodes City! Farma of Rhodes was incredible - just look at kids faces!!! We were really well timed that we managed to do all the interactions as just us as a family, which was a bonus!! We fed and petted ostriches, and then the kids attempted to break into some of their eggs (with consent - they aren't THAT bad!) We also petted and fed about a million different animals, but the other massive highlight was the lemurs! They were climbing all over us, and of course, the first lemur Aurelia fed was the Queen! We finished off our visit with a visit to the restaurant where we tried ostrich omlettes, and exited via the gift shop (of course!) Where the kids got their own bit of ostriche egg shell and feather! We tried to go to the valley of the butterflies before going home - their website said it was open, but Google said it was shut - Google is ALWAYS right! Sibiu). În mediul protestant, cu deosebire în cel german, unde era interzisă redarea imaginii sfinte, aceste tablouri, cu decor floral dezvolatat în jurul unui citat biblic, țineau loc de icoane: Iubitul meu este alb și rumen, deosebindu-se dintre zece mii, Solomon, Cântarea Cântărilor 5. 10. ” În mediul protestant, cu deosebire în cel german, interzicerea imaginii sfinte a făcut loc unor reprezentări care, în ultimă instanţă, au jucat acelaşi rol de a aminti continuu ceea ce este important în viaţă, doar că au făcut‐o prin intermediul cuvântului, a unor sententia, în jurul cărora au fost dezvoltate motive decorative de obicei geometrice şi florale. În cazul nostru, avem de‐a face cu o compoziţie realizată cu multă minuţiozitate, într‐o tehnică diferită de cea a iconarilor români, care presupune folosirea foiţei de argint şi de aur gravată în prealabil cu diverse forme, procedeu foarte răspândit în decorarea mobilierului de lux produs în secolele XVII‐XVIII, dar despre care nu avem ştiinţă să fi fost cunoscut şi artiştilor transilvăneni de etnie germană şi maghiară.
