Een studie uit 2020 naar de heilzame werking van drie paddenstoelen! Veel ernstige ziekten zoals diabetes, neurodegeneratieve en hart- en vaatziekten zijn pathologisch ontwikkeld door sommige vrije radicalen. Doorgaans worden vrije radicalen gegenereerd als natuurlijke bijproducten van normaal cellulair stofwisseling van zuurstof. Bovendien kunnen ze veroorzaakt worden door vele factoren, zoals roken, voeding, levensstijl, stress, Uv-licht en ioniserende straling. Vrije radicalen zijn verantwoordelijk voor het beschadigen van eiwitten, membranen en nucleรฏnezuren door middel van verschillende biologische processen die leiden tot vele ziekten. Er is een bekende relatie ontdekt en gelegd tussen vrije radicalen en kankerziekten, die gezondheidsuitdagingen die levens bedreigen en jaarlijks garant staat voor een wereldwijs stijgend aantal sterfgevallen. Er is dus een grote behoefte aan onderzoek naar krachtige bronnen die rijk zijn aan antioxidanten, die als afweersystemen de vrije radicalen aan kunnen pakken. Aan de andere kant is er een hoog cholesterolgehalte geassocieerd met een verhoogd risico op hart- en vaatziekten. Daarom is er ook een behoefte aan het vinden van Hypocholesterolemische krachtige bronnen. Het is duidelijk dat preventie en behandeling van dergelijke dodelijke ziekten onze volledige aandacht vragen. De Engelse naam verwijst naar het uiterlijk van de paddenstoel, dat lijkt op 'leeuwenmanen'. Lion's Mane behoort tot de #adaptogenen, een categorie van niet-toxische kruiden, wortels en paddenstoelen die al eeuwenlang in China en de #Ayurveda worden gebruikt. Tegenwoordig winnen deze adaptogenen ook sterk aan populariteit in de westerse wereld. #Mattisson biologische Lionโs Mane capsules zijn gemaakt van het vruchtlichaam van de #paddenstoel. Leuke vondst vandaag in Hertberg! Een hele, ondiepe gracht vol met Beekmijtertje! Dit, toch nog steeds zeldzame paddenstoeltje wordt de laatste jaren iets vaker waargenomen. Het Beekmijtertje is saprotroof en draagt dus bij aan de afbraak van organisch materiaal. Het is een bijzonder paddenstoeltje omdat het in het water groeit op plantaardige resten. Voorwaarde is wel dat het ondiep, eventueel zwak stromend, zuiver water betreft. Het Beekmijtertje wordt in het voorjaar aangetroffen in ondiepe greppels, plasjes en stroompjes.
