Stemonitopsis typhina This fairly common slime mould can be found on damp rotting wood with each fruiting body being around 5mm tall. It undergoes various colour changes in its lifecycle, starting as a striking white, becoming pink until eventually blackening. Easily identified by a silver membrane that coats the stalks. The spores are contained within the 'head' of the slime mould, also known as the Capillitium. Eine der üblichen Champignon-Arten (hätte natürlich den Stadtchampignon im Verdacht), die man zu dieser Jahreszeit gerne mal mitten in der Stadt antrifft - hier sogar nur wenige Meter von unserer Haustür entfernt. Die Fruchtkörper können recht stattliche Ausmaße annehmen. Theoretisch könnte das ein guter bis hervorragender Speisepilz sein, ich zumindest bin aber offen gestanden nicht so der größte Fan davon, am Straßenrand zwischen Zigarettenstummeln und Hundekot Pilze zu akquirieren. 😮💨 __________ One of the usual Agaricus species (probably Agaricus bitorquis) you'll see in urban areas this time of year - just a few metres from our house in fact. Fruiting bodies grow to impressive sizes at times.
