Friday Night #Charcuterie Bites… When the wine is flowing, an easy cheese + charcuterie board is not only the obvious choice, but an easy one at that. Raid your fridge for these items: 🧀 🍖 🐟 🌶 🍯 -range of cheeses- the last of my Cantal Jeune + Bucheron -cured meats / pates/ tinned fish - here I used N’duja -a spicy pork meat spread😍that is to die for @smokinggoosemeatery and Black Truffle Mousse Pate @gilbertbernardpate (anchovies not shown but I love @matiz_foods + @bahiadelaconcha -something pickled like cornichons or peppers -something sweet like honey or jam. Local businesses are stepping up and doing Portland proud with their commitment to social equity, and will be remembered for putting their livelihoods on the line in the name of what is right. Today we're giving a righteous shout out to one of our faves, @pairingspdx - neighbors to the @thinkportland office (ahem), and walking the walk for social justice. On Monday, they donated 20% of their proceeds to @blackresiliencefund, raising $300 for the cause. Beckham Creta Pinot Noir; 2015 A.D. Beckham Pinot Gris; 2016 A.D. Beckham Amphora Blanc. $5 per person (FREE for Pairings Portland Wine Club Members)! The Beckhams moved to Parrett Mountain in 2005 to have space to build a ceramics studio for Andrew’s budding art career. Their plans took a turn when they met their neighbors who were growing Pinot Noir grapes and selling wine out of their garage. Andrew and Annedria planted several vines, which quickly turned into a vineyard. They made their first wine in 2009 and opened their tasting room in 2012 to showcase their wines and Andrew’s artwork. In 2013, Andrew began experimenting with amphora, developing a terra cotta clay body appropriate for wine-making and perfecting the process of throwing and firing large-scale clay vessels. Drawing inspiration from @eforadori of Italy, the Beckham’s Amphora Project marries Andrew’s two passions–making wine and making art. The Beckhams have found that terracotta amphora are incredible insulators. The amphora fermentations are much cooler and more prolonged compared to fermentations in conventional vessels, resulting in wines that are bright, high-toned and very compelling. The A.D.
