62 വർഷങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പ് മുംബൈയിലെ ഉൾപ്രദേശത്തെ ഒരു വീടിൻ്റെ ടെറസിൽ ഏഴ് സ്ത്രീകൾ ഒത്തുചേർന്നു. വലിയ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ യോഗ്യതയൊന്നുമില്ലാതിരുന്ന അവർക്ക് എന്തെങ്കിലും ജോലി ചെയ്ത്‌ കുറച്ച് വരുമാനമുണ്ടാക്കി വീട് പുലർത്തുക എന്നത് മാത്രമായിരുന്നു ലക്ഷ്യം. വഴികൾ പലതാലോചിച്ചു. ഒടുവിൽ ഒരു തീരുമാനത്തിലെത്തി. ഏഴ് പേരും അവരുടെ കൈയിലെ കാശിന് അനുസരിച്ച് പപ്പടം ഉണ്ടാക്കാനുള്ള സാധനങ്ങൾ വാങ്ങുക. ഒരാൾ ഉഴുന്ന് വാങ്ങി. മറ്റൊരാൾ കുരുമുളക്. വേറൊരാൾ കായം, പിന്നെയൊരാൾ മസാലകൾ ഏഴ് പേരും ഓരോന്ന്. അങ്ങനെ 1959ല്‍, അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ സ്വപ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ കുഴച്ചെടുത്ത് വെയിലത്തിട്ട് ഉണക്കിയെടുത്ത് 'പപ്പടം' ആക്കി. നാല് പായ്ക്കറ്റ് പപ്പടമാണ് അന്ന് അവർക്ക് വിൽക്കാൻ സാധിച്ചത്. അതിന് ലാഭമായി കിട്ടിയത് എട്ട് അണയും. പിറ്റേന്ന് ഇരട്ടി സാധനങ്ങൾ വാങ്ങി എട്ട് പായ്ക്കറ്റുണ്ടാക്കി വിറ്റു. പിന്നീട് ഈ ഏഴ്പേർക്കൊപ്പം അയൽവാസികളായ കൂടുതൽ സ്ത്രീകളും ചേർന്നു. മൂന്നുമാസം കൊണ്ട് പപ്പട കൂട്ടായ്‌മയിലെ സ്ത്രീകളുടെ എണ്ണം 200 ആയി. സമീപ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളിലേക്ക് ഇത് വ്യാപിച്ചു. പിന്നീട് മറ്റ് സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലേക്കും. ഇന്ന് ഈ പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തെ ഇന്ത്യയിലെമ്പാടും അറിയും, രാജ്യാന്തര തലത്തിലും. ലിജ്ജത്ത് പപ്പട്. ശ്രീ മഹിള ഗൃഹ ഉദ്യോഗ്, ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും പഴക്കം ചെന്ന വനിതാ സഹകരണ പ്രസ്ഥാനമാണ്. ഇന്നും സ്ത്രീകൾക്കു വേണ്ടി സ്ത്രീകളാൽ നയിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ സഹകരണ പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിൻ്റെ, വാർഷിക വിറ്റുവരവ് 1,600 കോടി രൂപയാണ്. 17 സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലായി 45,000 സ്ത്രീകൾ ഈ സഹകരണ പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിനൊപ്പം ചേർന്ന് ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നു. പ്രതിവർഷം 400 കോടി പപ്പടമാണ് ഇവർ വിൽക്കുന്നത്. പത്മശ്രീ പുരസ്‌കാര ജേതാവായ 94കാരി ജസ്വന്തിബെന്‍ പോപട്ട് മാത്രമാണ് ലിജ്ജത് പപ്പടിന്റെ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഏക സഹസ്ഥാപക. . . . . . . #samrambam #samrambham #samrambammagazine #numberonemagazine #numberone #entesamrambhambusinessmagazine #entesamrambham #entrepreneurs #pappad #papad #pappadam #lijjat #lijjatpapad
