I’ve been sitting at home drawing pictures while strong, brave supporters of Duchenne UK have actually been riding their bikes to raise money – I thought it might be time to join them. So I am going to ride with them this May 17-18 from London to Paris (with a short ferry trip) – 300K – that’s a whopping 200 miles in 24 hours. I’m not ready, but I will be. How you can help. Training has started and the purpose of this page is to make it easy for you to follow me through training all the way to London and Paris. I’ll be posting, drawing and sharing video as this adventure unfolds. Today was meant to be the day I finally caught up with my crush of the season - the On&On bike from @pearson_1860. Excitement was in the air, plans were set, but alas, life has a way of steering us in unexpected directions. Plans change, and expectations and hopes aren’t always met. Yet, that’s the beauty of the journey. It’s not always a smooth ride, but every twist and turn teaches us something new. So yes, I find myself embracing yet another lesson in patience, eagerly awaiting some better news to come. Let’s say: if it’s not a happy ending, it’s not the end at all! Call it incorrect optimism if you will, but I continue believing that setbacks are just temporary detours on the road to success.
