The Earth smiles in flowers… I always make sure I have flowers at home. They are beautiful and have this sensitive gentle energy that is so relaxing. I’m obsessed with a good energy flow in the house. I honestly believe that the clutter of the mind, matches the clutter around us. If we make space for one, it’s easier to make space for the other. As creative souls, it is important to create a beautiful aesthetic around us that constantly inspires us. Living smack in the middle of the city, I feel very cramped in by the concrete bustle around me. Getting away is not often possible. So home becomes a haven. I have corners that inspire me. That inspires me and makes me feel happy. Declutter, destress and keep a healthy happy home and soul. And to all of you who hoard and clutter up your external, maybe it’s not a bad idea to review, let go, literally take out the trash, and see how good that feels. Then start with that Internal clutter and take that out as well, gently and lovingly. Yes or no?

Lies, betrayal, broken relationships, money issues, heartbreaks, all seem like such huge priorities till something for real goes wrong with health. Suddenly everything else seems utterly irrelevant and fixable. Most of us live with utter abandon that nothing can get to us. But living as though nothing can, will one day take it’s toll for sure. We learn this the hard way. And it all has to start internally. Others telling us to change will be the last thing that actually changes anything for us. And we end up finding it annoying as hell too. Nobody has to tell us anything though. We are intelligent creatures. If we intuitively tune in to our body we will know what needs to be fixed. I’m not going to give a list of eating right or exercise etc here, we have heard and know enough. What I am here to tell you is that, when your body protests (and it will) or gives you cause for alarm (you will get enough wake up calls), Do Not ignore and make sure to get it checked out, do the necessary adjustments and live healthily. Yes.🤗
Happy Mother’s Day I hadn’t planned on posting today but felt a need to say this. Being the daughter of an obsessed mom, I have been a bit over pampered all my life. So I’m going to take a moment to thank the Universe for giving me great parents. This however is a post about being a Mom. Parenting small children has it’s frustrating moments but the general outline is easier. You protect them, feed them, bathe them, keep them away from danger and more importantly, love them like crazy. As they are growing up and forming opinions, it gets a bit harder. There comes a time when you have to make a solid choice and stick to it. Either you be a stereotype and project all your ambitions and fears and social conditioning on to their fragile shoulders, bind them with obligation and make them walk a hardline on the path you think they should. Guiding is not wrong, in fact they could do well with encouragement and a stable atmosphere. Enforcement on the other hand. Nope. We are their primary caregivers who keep them from harm to themselves and others. Beyond that they are individuals who are on their own evolutionary path. Respecting that and treating them as intelligent and capable beings who do not need micromanagement is something I recognise I have to do as a parent. There is no one size fits all parenting styles here. There is never a right or wrong way to do this. But if my kids are reading this (they won’t lol), it’s important for them to know that their decisions and choices for themselves do not define my happiness (or lack of), or complete me in any way. If they are happy I am happy. Not always easy to stick to this. I have my moments when I struggle. That’s on me, not them. I hope they go to on to adulthood with love, kindness, serving their path and come off strong and full of love for all. That is successful parenting to me.
Shot this for a light test and backdrop check. Didn’t like either so I let it sit somewhere in simmering discard. If I shake up my folders I will probably find tons of discarded pics like these. Earlier I used to think a lot about what to post. Perfection being my mantra. I somehow find so much beauty in imperfections now. The discarded ugly scissors, the products left haphazard. And the heart super happy. There is no litmus test here. This picture is me. As much as the more organised ones. The spirit of embracing it all, gives birth to a newfound release for me. Just… listen So, the next time someone is telling us something sad about their lives. A tragedy perhaps, or something that is hurting them. Please just… listen. So many of us instantly want to fix that situation. And one of the instant fixes is by reminding them of how other people have it worse. While this may work sometimes, for the most part, we are just repressing and invalidating the speaker. This repression leads to unhealed bits. The next time someone want to talk. Just listen. Hear them out throughly before offering opinions and fixes. Our own impatience makes us butt in or say, yeah well this happened to me too. And then we start telling them how that exact thing happened to us blah blah and before we know it, the conversation becomes all about us. I struggle with impatience. I interrupt a lot when people are telling me long winded stories. But I’m learning to just sit back and listen now. To listen and to observe. And more importantly to not give solutions until I am asked (cos the times I have given unsolicited advice have more often than not turned into arguments, so don’t). Isn’t it beautiful and liberating to be able to shut up sometimes lol. Just kidding. But seriously… just listen. Be there. It’s healing.
