Last month, I attended a floral styling and photography masterclass with @lucytheflowerhunter, @t.j._mcgrath_design, and guest designer @francespalmer at @jardindebuis. The following week, I attended a quick pickling class at @chocolatesandtomatoes farm. Both experiences encouraged me to give myself permission to play and experiment with new ideas. I decided to create an arrangement of carrots from my garden that pays homage to the beauty of pickled vegetables 🌿🥕🌿 What do you think—do vegetables work in a decorative arrangement? On June 2, Lori Lankford and I will be teaching a floral photography workshop (with bouquet making, still life scenes, and photography in the garden) at the beautiful @glennleighfarms in Frederick, Maryland. Sunrise on Oak Island 🌅 This shot was captured with the ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) technique. You just use a slower shutter speed and pan your camera from side to side or up and down. Мне очень симпатизирует идея апсайклинга. И не только потому что перешитые вещи получаются очень фактурными, с множеством различных текстур, плюс вещь каждый раз получается уникальной, каждый раз в чём-то непохожей на всё предыдущее. Мне ещё нравится сам факт, что старые, неактуальные или испорченные вещи не выбрасываются на помойку, а переиспользуются и, продолжают приносить пользу. Каждая подобная вещь шьется индивидуально, чаще в единственном экземпляре. И это очень даже творческий процесс и похоже на искусство (прям как фотография). Ведь прежде чем что-то сшить, надо придумать что это будет, из чего это будет сделано, найти это, привезти, подготовить. Как, например, вот такое платье от @upcyclee_ для которого использовались 4 пары старых джинс, комбинезон и топ. А как ещё понять, что что-то точно в твоём вкусе, если это не пробовать? Вот и я пробую постоянно снимать что-то новое для себя. Здесь у меня не было каких-то мощных глубоких идей, были эксперименты со светом. За один раз, конечно, во всех тонкостях не разберёшься, что там работает, а что - не очень. Но всё равно.
