I am entering this vegan or vegetarian dish (depending how it’s prepared) for the #plushiesummerartexpo2020 I know it’s a bit late but that’s the beauty of hashtags! They just keep going right! So this recipe I mailed out to several friends at Christmas and it’s really a family favorite we make it often! It’s so simple and easy to modify! It’s called Zucchini Boats. You need 3 zucchini, sliced in half the long way. 1 block of tofu- best to let the liquid drain out for 15 minutes in a clean towel but not necessary. Italian or pork seasoning of some kind. 1 cup dry bread crumbs 1-2 clove minced garlic 1, 32 oz jar spaghetti sauce 1/2 cup parmesan or alternate 1/2 cup mozzarella or alternative Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a pan crumble and fry tofu with a touch of oil and Italian or pork seasoning until golden. Trim stems from zucchini and slice lengthwise. Scoop out seeds and put in bowl. Mix seeds with, garlic, bread crumbs, tofu and parmesan cheese. Stuff squash with tofu mixture and place in 9x13 inch baking pan. Pour sauce over squash and cover pan with foil. Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until sausage is cooked. Remove foil and cover with mozzarella cheese. Cook until cheese is melted. If you have soy allergies, you can easily substitute the tofu for 1 lb of sausage or soy free meat alternative. Cheese you can use plant based cheese for vegan dish or a traditional dairy for vegetarian option. We like clean surfaces in our house but we don’t like strong chemicals. This recipe is pretty easy and good for surface cleaning and sanitizing. You will need an empty bottle, I like to use one with a small hole for squiring out liquid like from old soap bottle or from a rubbing alcohol bottle works well. Just make sure you some how label the bottle properly. So take your empty bottle, fill it 1/2 way full of of rubbing alcohol, add just a few drops of dish soap any brand then fill the other 50% with water. Put the lid on and give it a little shake. Now you can squirt a small amount onto any hard surface like sinks, countertops, doorknobs and wipe it down with a sponge or soft cloth to sanitize and clean. We have been successfully making this recipe for 6+ years and it has helped us limit the chemicals we have in our home and stop the spread of germs. If you are worried test it in a small spot first😊

This recipe for clean shoes comes from the brilliant account @ekotipset. All you need is water, baking soda (bikarbonat) and an old toothbrush! You make a paste out of the baking soda and water and put it on the soles of the shoes. It works best if you let it set for a while. Then you brush it with the toothbrush and either wipe it off with a wet cloth or, if you make a mess as SpyBat did, you can also rinse the whole shoe 😉 SpyBat also made an experiment with the shoelaces. He first let them soak in water with some baking soda, and then he gave them a good brushing too. And the shoelaces are actually what he's most satisfied with! It is great in a variety of ways: plain and fresh out of the oven, left over in sandwiches with ketchup, left over in sandwiches with mayo, left over in sandwiches with ketchup and/or mayo, or left over with ketchup. Happy Saturday everyone! Today I am sharing a project for #plushiesummerartexpo2020. This is my post for Recycled Art by @this_is_little_chewie and @funwithbubby. I have shared this hack for a #plushiediysaturdays by @bupermanbaltazar before a couple years ago, but it’s perfect for the expo and I still do it. Mommy and I love candles from Bath and BodyWorks and we recycle the great glass jars they come in by making display pieces. Once the candle has burned, put it in the freezer until the last bit of wax if frozen and pops out. Then wash the glass, remove the label, and you are good to go! I have some filled with shells to display, as well as gifts and buttons that I have received from friends. You can even decorate the lids! Happy Friday friends 😀!! ⠀ ⠀ I'm running out of time but here are the latest news from my kitchen: . ⠀ ⠀ Do you like these beautiful elderberry bushes? I'm drooling when sniffing them and making elderberry jam is THE sign of summertime for me. I love it to preserve the taste of the season and use up a glut of elderflower from our garden to make this simple, sweet and very refreshing jam 🐻😋. . ⠀ ⠀ This is my family recipe for you: 24 big elderflower heads, Juice of 2 lemons, 750 ml Apple Juice, 375g Preserving Sugar (2:1) A big spoon 🥄 for taste tests 😉🐻!! . ⠀ ⠀ Place all of the freshly picked elderflowers into a large saucepan and pour over the cold water. It is important not to wash the flowerheads, since you will wash away valuable flavours. Do not be concerned if there are any tiny insects on the flowers, these will be strained off later. Mix in the juice of one large lemon, cover and allow to stand for at least 24 hours (we prefer 48 h) , to fully infuse the flavour of the elderflowers. . ⠀ ⠀ After 24 to 48 hours, pour your liquid through muslin, into another pan, and then add the jam sugar. Stir the liquid over a medium heat to dissolve the sugar and bring to a boil for around 5 minutes. Skim off any scum on the top. . ⠀ ⠀ As soon as 5 min has passed and the consistency of your elderflower jam has started to thicken, you can remove the pan from the heat.
