Wow! Thanks so much @musicmotionart for such a great experience! I'm so excited that our team won 3rd place this year! Huge thanks to our project leader, Jenn Deafenbaugh @ittybittyartist for building this LED structure, which included welding the top frame, 3D printing LED attachments, soldering the LEDs, and programming the arduino, mapped the pixel array for content to go through, worked with TouchDesigner to configure the Vive tracker to the LED motion array depth, not to mention driving up from Boston to be on this project! We were truly blessed to have such a helpful and collaborative team comprised of Axel Helios @axelhelios , who was an absolute asset of knowledge in every degree, being instrumental in getting OSC parameters working on all of these computers simultaneously. He also created an oceanic vibe for the projections using Unity, as well as being a solid presenter to the judges. Anamika Deb @debstudio.co who worked non-stop, created content for the LEDs in @touchdesigner , and put together and organized a solid cohesive presentation document of our project, Shayan Farahani @_farsea for creating a great soundscape in collaboration with Axel for the vive reactivity, Jae-Eun Suh @jaejaeyy_s for working to create motion camera effects that mixed in with floor projection interactivity, and @mysssterious999, who helped with social media posting and created the bracelet that connected to the vive tracker. For darkmatterberlin we will recreate one of my oldest and maybe the first ever walkable interactive projection mapping object the POLYGON PLAYGROUND. The original was presented for the first time in 2008 in the art forest at SMUK Fest in Denmark and is also part of the permanent exhibition of the Daegu Science Center in Korea. POLYGON PLAYGROUND translates a computer-generated object into real space. A seamless 360-degree projection covers the surface like a digital skin that reacts to its environment via sensors. POLYGON PLAYGROUND is a playground for all ages, inviting visitors to experiment. By interacting with the object, everyone becomes part of the work and directly influences its appearance. A constantly changing, digitally expanded sculpture is created for visitors to climb over, walk around or lounge upon. Really pleased with my last BFA project at NSCAD. I've been contemplating ways of un-bodying embodiment for the arch of my trajectory in this program, and I felt it culminate through every phase of this process. (i want to hold you) CLOSER originated as a pre-top surgery documentation shot by Kay Ess & Andrew Deveaux @hypnagogic_logic, taking the form of an endurance performance, whereby I sculpted the steel mesh around my body in femme&masculinizing ways. I wanted to explore intersections of pain vs. intimate softness and tangible vs phantom experiences of the body in trans spaces of vulnerability.
