The exhibition unfolds through a new sound installation, a light installation, and a combination of older sculptures with new wall bas-reliefs. Altmann’s work critically observes the effects of globalized capitalism on our environment and desires, employing a blend of collage and assemblage that references both European avant-gardes and a reaction to economic disparities emblematic of the West Coast in the 1960s. Die blaue Flasche des Getränks war dabei das Leitmotiv der Veranstaltung. Ein blauer Tunnel führte die Gäste über eine Rolltreppe in den ersten Stock, in dem der typische Berliner Edgy-Look des ehemaligen Einkaufshauses auf sleekes Design traf. Hier wurden die Besucherinnen zunächst von einer Lichtinstallation empfangen. Große Glasgefäße, die auf einem organisch geformten Bodenspiegel platziert und mit unzähligen 1664 Blanc Flaschen befüllt wurden, erstrahlten in blauem Neonlicht. Eine farblich abgestimmte Showroom-Installation setzte zudem den Merch der Brand zwischen deckenhohen, raumteilenden Vorhängen in Szene. Late last year when we were reworking our own kitchen and dining room we were trying to find a lighting solution that not only worked really well, but looked great too.
