Rocky gave us sad puppy eyes today as he was getting ready for breakfast. He wanted to know why he doesn’t have a furever family yet. We told him he’s a very good boy, and that it will happen soon. We didn’t have the heart to tell him that there is a phenomenon called black dog syndrome, where black dogs are overlooked and less frequently adopted. Adrian has arrived in DC. ♥️ This sweet girl is 10 lbs and 10 weeks old. She and her brother Rocky survived parvo and almost deadly malnourishment and dehydration from being abandoned as young puppies. Adrian was the reason Rocky survived. Once she was reunited with him in the ICU (after we knew they were not contagious to each other), she got Rocky to start eating and make a comeback. She never gave up on her brother! That was the boost he needed! This is Mack! We have reached a huge milestone today. He has gone six months without an auto immune attack on his body. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 We’ve been working with his family to keep him healthy since he’s a super complicated case and has been through so much. Mack was abandoned on the streets of Puerto Rico and needed blood transfusions and extensive medical care to save him. This little guy is such a fighter and so loving. Corona is such a special dog. But so is her foster mom. Agreeing to take in a severely injured dog that will require surgery and rehabilitation is no small task. But her foster mom volunteered and went above and beyond. She has a huge heart and beautiful soul just like Corona. So it gives us tears of joy to announce that Corona’s adoption is pending.
