Frühlingskonzert der Stadtkapelle Dinkelsbühl 🎼🎺 Samstag, 27.04.2024 19.30 Uhr Auch dieses Jahr findet wieder das traditionelle Frühlingskonzert der Stadtkapelle in der Schranne in Dinkelsbühl statt. Musikdirektor Johannes Krauß hat sich viele Gedanken zum Programm gemacht und ein anspruchsvolles Repertoire zusammengestellt. 🎺 Der Klangkörper präsentiert sich dabei einmal mehr als sinfonisches Blasorchester - von Klassik über traditionell zu sinfonischer, moderner Blasmusik. 🎺 Das neue Konzertprogramm enthält neben Marsch und Polka auch Solisten, Kompositionen von Gioachino Rossini, Otto M. 솜사탕 같은 핑크색 파라다이스로 초대하는 여동헌 작가 편완식 기자 [email protected] 2024.04.24 14:56 -치유와 휴식을 주는 색면 극대화 -5월 25일까지 아트파크 개인전 [서울=뉴스프리존]편완식 미술전문기자= 인간은 태어나서 죽을 때까지 색깔에 둘러싸여 산다. 그리고 색깔을 통해 기분을 표현하고 의미를 전달하기도 한다. 시대에 따라 색깔의 의미가 달라지기도 했다. 19세기까지 붉은색과 핑크색은 강함과 권위를 상징하는 남자들의 색이었다. 색채심리학에서 핑크는 치유와 휴식의 색으로 여겨진다. 여동헌 작가는 핑크색으로 파라다이스를 형상화 하고 있다. 꽃대궐 같은 풍경이다. 여동헌 작가의 ‘핑크 파라다이스, Pink Paradise-Romantic Road’전이 5월 15일까지 아트파크에서 열린다. 이번 전시에서는 이전 작업에서 두드러졌던 검은색 라인이 줄어들고, 대신 색면을 효과적으로 활용한 작품들이 선보인다. 결과적으로 화폭이 심플해졌다. 작가는 어린시절 보았던 헐리웃 영화에서 감성적으로 민트와 핑크색에 물들어 갔다. 미국 팝아트 영향도 컸다. 미국에 대한 동경이자 아메리칸드림이기도 했다. 지금의 작업 ‘파라다이스로 가는 여정’의 단초가 된 것이다. 연약함의 상징으로서의 핑크에 대한 보호본능도 발동됐다. 핑크색 돼지 양 팽귄들의 그렇다. 여 작가는 “연세 소아암병동에 핑크색 양 설치를 하면서 핑크색 작업에 더 빠져들게 됐습니다. 치유에 도움이 된다는 호평을 받았어요. 당시 암투병중인 어머니의 방도 핑크색으로 꾸며드렸습니다”라고 말한다. 그는 최근 노안이 찾아 오면서 라인을 그리는데 어려움을 겪고 있다. 하지만 대안으로 면구성 위주로 방향을 틀었다. 그래선지 요즘 붓질 한번에 명암을 드러내는 노회함도 보이고 있다. 예전엔 명암법과 원근법을 무시했지만 요즘엔 부감법까지 쓴다. 보다 자유로워졌다는 얘기다.판화에 일가견은 가진 그는 판화의 여러 레이어처럼 화폭을 여러 레이어로 꾸미는 지독함을 보였지만, 요즘엔 서너번의 붓터치로 밀도감을 줄 정도다. 무르익은 완숙의 경지로 들어서고 있는 것이다. 세상의 이치란 하나를 얻기 위해선 하나를 잃어야 한다. 작가의 새로운 변신이 그렇다. 화폭이 몽실몽실한 핑크색 천지다. 화폭을 바라보고 있으면 솜사탕 같은 파라다이스로 빠져들어가는 것 같다. One of the cutest towns in all the land 💫 [Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany] Apparently, Disney used this town as inspiration for the setting in Pinocchio. Walking around Europe you often think “this looks like Disneyland.” Well guess what…This is the real deal and Disney copied Europe. 😎 Extra tips to making Rothenburg magical: 1) stay overnight inside the town walls 2) Do the Night Watchman’s Tour 8pm-9pm 3) Hike to the top of the Bell Tower for amazing views 4) Walk the medieval wall surrounding the city 5) Walk aimlessly and explore the town stopping at shops, cafes & treat shops along the way. 6) If you have a car, you can drive through as well on designated roads. We did that about 5 times to take it all in and because we loved it so much. It was lightly raining on our exploration day so the streets were not busy. Plus since we stayed overnight inside the city walls, we beat all the crowds arriving as day trippers from say, Munich. This really helped not dealing with crowds on foot or by car. I also think going in the off-season of early April helped with low crowds. 전시 앞두고 저에게 '왜 핑크색이냐?' 라고 질문하시는 분들이 계셔서, 그 이유에 대해서 포스팅하려고 합니다. 첫번째는 유년 시절 아메리칸 드림으로 대변되는 미국식 대중문화와 팝아트에 대한 동경으로 보입니다. 저는 1970년생으로 유년기에 헐리우드 영화를 필두로 한 미국식 대중문화를 동경했었어요. 그 중에서도 '백 투 더 퓨처'나 '바비인형' 같은 미국식 레트로 문화를 좋아했었습니다. 사실 영화나 미국 문화 자체를 좋아했다기 보다는, 그것들이 이루어져 있는 색에 관심이 더 많았던 것 같습니다. 그 우스꽝스럽게도 보여지는 핑크와 민트의 조합이 그렇게 좋아보였습니다. 제 그림을 보면 자주(거의 매작품) 등장하는(거의 페르소나라고도 할수 있는) 양 과 돼지들도 핑크색으로 그린건 우연이 아닌 것 같습니다. 그리고 핑크색의 친구인 민트색도 많이 그리고 있어요. 두번째는 2014년에 신촌 세브란스 암병원 4층 소아암병동에 설치되어 있는 '양날다' 작업을 할때, 그쪽 관계자들이 굉장히 좋아하는거에요. 이유를 여쭤보니 '핑크색'이 암환자들에게 특히 좋은 색이라고 하더군요. 저는 그걸 모르고 그렸지만 '핑크색'이 '치유의 색'이라는걸 그때 처음 알았습니다. 6.7.8 사진 그 후에 2015년, 2016년에 저의 어머니께서 암 수술후 투병중이실때 부모님 댁에 핑크로 그려진 그림들을 걸어놓았어요... 어머니께서 병환을 이기지 못하시고 바로 하늘로 가시긴 했지만... 그 후부터 핑크색에 대한 감정이 더 풍부해진 것 같아요. 저에게 핑크색은 유년시절의 '동경의 색'으로 출발했지만 지금은 ' 치유의 색'이라고 할 수 있습니다. The Cotswolds. 🐑🐑🐑 “Cots” are sheep enclosures. “Wolds” are gentle hills. And you get an insane amount of both when you visit the area. It’s soooo pretty. The towns are all close to each other, many with unique names (Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, Upper Slaughter, Stratford-upon-Avon) and the route connecting them all is called the romantic road for good reason. 😘♥️ You definitely feel like you’re in a different era of time there. The only thing out of place are the vehicles instead of carriages. But you could clearly see how these towns would be bustling with horses and soldiers and ladies and gents long ago. I certainly felt like I was in a scene from an Austen novel or one of those cheesy historical romance books I loved to read when I was younger. We were both getting over colds when we were there so we imbibed enough tea to fill the Boston harbour. We also enjoyed our cozy room above @TheBellstow pub in Stow-on-the-Wold. We then spent two days there driving the romantic road and going off route to visit a couple other spots like Stratford-Upon-Avon to see Shakespeare’s home and his wife, Anne Hathaway’s cottage. We also visited Kenilworth Castle, a medieval fortress and Elizabethan garden that’s now in ruins since the English Civil War in the 1600s. It was founded during the Norman conquest of England in the 1120s as a formidable fortress then later transformed into a palace by Robert Dudley to impress his love Queen Elizabeth I. She dropped by, stayed awhile, but still didn’t marry the man. 😂 It was fascinating to go through the ruins and garden and see and learn about all the iterations this almost-a-thousand-year-old fortress has gone through. Oh, and we enjoyed a Sunday roast supper at the pub we were staying above. With gigantic, perfect Yorkshire puddings. Delish! Welcome to paradise-Romantic road(2). 83x116cm. Acrylic on canvas. 2023 여동헌/ 상실된 유년, 잃어버린 낙원을 찾아서 고충환(미술평론) 로맨틱 로드. 독일의 미술사가 빌헬름 보링거는 중세 북유럽 미술 양식의 특징으로 공간 공포를 들었다. 빠끔한데 하나 없이 온통 세부로 빼곡한 고딕 성당이 그렇고, 회화로 치자면 피터 브뤼겔과 히에로니무스 보쉬의 환상적이고 왠지 모르게 들떠 있는(그러므로 동적인) 느낌의 그림이 그렇다. 동양의 여백과 비교되는 이런 양식적 특징은 시공을 초월해 작가 여동헌의 그림에서도 확인된다. 노동집약적인 그리기 혹은 집요한 그리기로 형용할 수도 있을 이런 양식적 특징으로 작가는 빼곡한 숲 사이로 끊어질 듯 이어지는, 사라졌다가 다시 나타나는 굽이진 길을 즐겨 그리는 편이다. 그렇게 로맨틱 로드를 그렸다. 이번에는 화면이 온통 녹색 천지다. 숲 사이로 난 굽이진 길을 그린 그림으로, 독일의 17번 국도에 있는 길이라고 했다. 작가는 원래 비틀즈의 the Long and Winding road를 생각하면서 그렸다고 했는데, 비틀즈의 이 노래는 작가에게 남다른 의미가 있다고 했다. 비틀즈의 마지막 빌보드 싱글차트 1위 곡으로, 공교롭게도 작가가 태어난 해와 달에 맞춘 듯 처음 발표된 곡이라고 했다. 작가는 즐겨 노랫말을 그림 제목으로 인용하는 편인데, 평소 만화와 애니메이션 그리고 팝송과 같은 대중적인 미디어에 대한 열린 태도와 매체 친화력이 반영된 것이라고 해도 좋고, 그 자체 작가의 그림이 어디서 어떻게 유래했는지 암시하는 대목이라고 해도 좋을 것이다. 그런데, 왜 제목이 바뀌었는가. 제목을 그대로 옮기면 길고 구불구불한 길이라는 의미가 될 것이지만, 사실은 삶의 여정에 대한 메타포를 의미하는 것이어서 적어도 외관상 어린아이의 눈에 비친 천진난만하고 순진무구한 세계를 그리는 작가가 그대로 가져와 쓰기에는 좀 무겁다고 생각했을 것이다. 그 자체 작가가 그려놓고 있는 세계와는 정반대의 역설적인 현실을 증명하고 있는 일화라고 해도 좋을 것이다. 그러므로 작가는 어쩌면 어린아이의 눈에 비친 천진난만하고 순진무구한 세계를 통해, 그리고 꿈꾼 대로 이루어진다는 낭만적인 길을 걸으면서 상식과 합리, 논리와 개념으로 숨 막히는 현실에서의 탈주를 생각하고 있는지도 모른다. 어른이 상실한 유년을 되불러오고 싶고, 여기에 어쩌면 현대인이 잃어버린 꿈과 상상력으로 보상받는 세계를 생각하고 있는지도 모를 일이다. Pink Paradise - Wedding day 시집가는 날, 115x163cm, Acrylic on canvas, 2023. 여동헌/ 상실된 유년, 잃어버린 낙원을 찾아서 고충환(Kho Chunghwan 미술평론) 시집가는 날. 시집가는 날 신부의 들뜬 마음을 반영이라도 하듯 세상이 온통 벚꽃 천지다. 정작 작가는 벚꽃이 아니라고 했다. 다만 평소 좋아하는 핑크일 뿐이고, 그저 색일 뿐이라고 했다. 그럼에도 그림의 꼴이나 정황상 벚꽃 천지로 봐도 무방할 듯싶다. 보기에 따라선 몽글몽글한 꽃 무더기가 솜사탕을 떠올리게도 된다. 위에서 아래로 내려다본 부감법을 적용해 그린 그림에서 지천인 벚꽃 사이사이로 나타났다가 사라지고 끊어질 듯 연이어진 굽이진 길이 보인다. 그 길 위로 집들이 보이고 마을이 보이는데, 이국적인 도시를 옮겨놓은 미니어처 마을처럼도 보이고, 헨젤과 그레텔의 동화에나 나올 법한 과자로 만든 집을 떠올리게도 된다. 멀리서 조망하기도 하고 들여다보듯 가까이서 본 길 위에 시집가는 날의 들뜬 행렬이 보인다. 예복을 곱게 차려입은 신부가 보이고, 잡귀를 물리기라도 하듯 12지신이 신부가 탄 가마를 메고 수호한다. 청사초롱을 손에 든 남녀아동이 앞서고, 풍물패가 뒤따르며 흥을 돋운다. 그리고 그 뒤로 사람들의 행렬이 끝도 없이 이어진다. 이런 경사에 객이 빠질 수는 없는 일. 객들은 때로 길 위에서, 때로 지천인 벚꽃에 파묻힌 채 그 사이사이로 고개를 내밀어 신부를 축하하는데, 굽이진 길을 따라 아이들이, 개와 고양이가, 양과 돼지가, 산양이, 펭귄과 자동차가 내달린다. 그리고 크낙새가, 사자가, 호랑이가, 기린이, 염소가, 밍크고래가, 돌고래가, 유니콘이, 용이, 봉황이 벚꽃 사이사이로 고개를 내밀어 신부 쪽을 쳐다본다. 객들은 하늘에도 있는데, 로봇 찌빠가, 캐릭터들이, 비행선이, 범선이, 잠수정이, 경주용 자동차가, 미니카를 연상시키는 고전적인 형태의 이국적인 자동차가, 동물들과 상상 속 동물들이, 그리고 여기에 알만한 혹은 아리송한 사물들이 하늘 위에 유영한다. 벚꽃이 만발한 꽃 천지(꽃 대궐?)를 배경으로 전통 혼례식의 축하행렬을 그린 그림이다. 꽃길만 걸어라, 는 의미일까. 이 들뜬 행렬에는 아마도 어린아이의 순진무구한 시각에서나 볼 법한 상식을 넘어서는 파격이 있다. 작가가 그린 다른 그림들에서도 그렇지만, 동물들과 함께 상상으로 지어낸 동물들이 등장하는 것이 그렇다. 고대 중국의 산해경이나 보르헤스가 구상했던 괴물 사전에나 나올 법한 동물들이 그렇다. 이런 상상 동물들은 사실은 인간이 욕망을 투사해 만든 비존재들인데, 이를테면 순식간에 천 리를 간다는 천리마(천마와 유니콘)가 그렇다. 동물에 인간의 욕망을 투사한 것이라는 점에서 보면, 12지신이 의미하는 것도 이와 크게 다르지 않을 것이다. 혼례식에는 어린아이와 함께 어린아이 같은 어른들이 초대를 받았다. 그리고 동물과 상상 동물들이 초대를 받았다. 여기에 로봇과 캐릭터와 함께 자동차와 비행기 같은 사물들도 초대를 받았다. 하객들이 타고 온 이동 수단일 수도 있겠지만, 유독 작가의 그림에 등장하는 사물들은 사물 이상의 표정을 가지고 있고, 저마다 격을 가지고 있어서 서로 소통을 할 수도 있을 것 같은 느낌이다. 일종의 사물 인격체들이라고 해야 할까.
