Today is lymphoma day. September 15th. I could say a million things about it... but I just want to show you how he looks like. You heard so much about him but never had the chance to see him (hope not to disappoint you). Well, this is how Mr. Hodgkin is... all the black dots (excluding my brain of course) are his fault. Be careful with this guy, he goes unnoticed but when he appears he likes to shine and go big, 'cause go big ir go home right?? He presents himself with extreme fatigue, weight loss, itching, swolen nodes and nights sweats. You need to know your body and pay attention, because he tries to warn you. Don't let the guy settle in! Never!! He is a really pain in the ass and for me it took 2.5 years for him to realize that he had to leave. This not the life I dreamed and it's far away from it! Never thought that at 25y would have cancer almost all over my body and at 1 month of turning 28y would still be fighting it. Somedays it's not easy to keep going, sometimes you just want give up and live your life like never had cancer but in the end, this is my life now. I had to adjust myself, I had to learn to listen my body, I had to learn my limitations and learn to not think that I'm invencible or taking things as guaranted. However, I also learned that when life give me lemons, I can always make the best lemonade ...and now, two days of concerts in two different festivals, means a recovery weekend in the couch but I don't care because I had so much fun. About last night. I managed, I don't know how yet, to go to Ed Sheeran's concert that for me started at 18:30 until 23h, starting with James Bay. So many hours on my feet and my jelly legs... I bought the ticket on october, during a stay in the hospital. I'm not the craziest fan but I like it tho. I saw that the tickets were out and on a crazy moment bought it. I thought that I needed so bad... I needed to feel that I had a life outside waiting for me! I'm sooo happy with these crazy moments! Before lymphoma I wouldn't by a ticket like that, I would start thinking about money if it was really worth it... But I have a feeling that I can't miss a thing and fortunately I did it... it was a hell of a show!! Today is a big day, it's day +100 post-transplant and I survived! It's the deadline for danger days🙌 Is when the greatest risk for critical side effects is past and when the imune system is closer to normal. Now general health and how well the bone marrow is working will be checked. If there are no serious problems, follow-up may be done less frequently as time passes and the risk of problems becomes lower. Dear Porto, it's always good to see you, mainly when I'm stuck at home for 15 days. Everytime I meet you I feel so happy and so lighter and my head needed so much! Mental health is another piece of the puzzle as important as everything else and I need to take care of mine. Do the things that makes me happy and be surrounded with the ones who love me and enjoy my company, helps to take away all the negativity of my life and that feels good! Yes my body is weaker than usual but I leave with a stronger mind, a little at least. This has been a hell of a journey. Started January 24th and ended February 13 (the hospital days). I'm not going to lie, it wasn't easy, wasn't possible to smile every day and some days I don't remember, but now I'm one step closer to say goodbye to you Mr. Hodgkin. I'm a little tired of you, I have to admitt and I hope to never see you again. Honestly, I knew that wouldn't be easy, but I didn't knew that would be this hard. However, I'm glad I went through everything, it means that I have to fight against you Mr. Hodgkin and show you that I no longer want this relationship. To you that is going to do a stem cell transplant please never give up, be as patient as you can and just focus on the final prize! Is the time for you to fight as hard as you can! One of the best things you can do for your self after chemo! Some secondary effects get much better after an workout session and you will feel much happier and stronger. Don't need to be something extremelly hard, just a little walk is enough sometimes...
