Pixar Place Hotel in Disneyland Resort is now open! This hotel previously was Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel but has just be transformed into Pixar Place! It is the first and only Pixar themed hotel in the US! Walking into the lobby you will be greeted by a giant Pixar Lamp on top the Pixar Ball. You will find bright colors and Pixar art work all throughout the hotel. Pixar Place has standard rooms that sleeps up to 5, club level rooms, and 1-3 bedroom suites. At Pixar Place you will find 2 beloved characters- Bing Bong from “Inside Out” and Joe Gardner the jazz musician from “Soul”. One of my favorite areas is the 3rd floor deck with pool, private day beds, cabanas, hot tub, water slide, splash pad, games, grassy area, and plenty of seating. On select nights you watch the fireworks with music piped in! There is 3 dining options here: Great Maple is a table service option that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Sketch Pad Cafe serves grab-and-go pastries, coffee, tea, and selection of sandwiches and snacks. Small Bytes is a pool bar that serves snacks. Pixar Place is a short walk from the parks and Downtown Disney. One big perk of staying here is the dedicated path and entrance into Disney California Adventure Park! This entrance takes you right into Pixar Place. We are staying at the Disneyland Hotel in the new Deluxe studios! Our room is themed after the Princess and the Frog with colorful artwork throughout the room. There is a kitchenette, complete with an under-the-counter refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. The room includes a split bathroom, 1 queen-size bed, and 1 couch that pulls down into a queen bed. There is plenty of space with a dresser, desk/vanity with a mirror, closet, and under-bed storage for luggage. The lobby has plenty of seating, bright colors, and beautiful artwork. Good morning from… an airport hotel in Chicago (whomp whomp…) 🤦🏼♀️ I was *supposed* to have a happy “Good morning from Amsterdam!” post today, but a canceled and then reinstated flight 4 hours later made me miss my connection and has me stuck in Chicago for 24 hours. Look, travel disruptions happen. Did I land in Chicago, run to my gate, and watch my plane to Europe taxi away? Yep. Did I cry? Yep. It’s true, even Travel Advisors get upset when plans are interrupted. Am I going to be ok? Yep! Here’s some things to know: 1) If your flight is delayed or canceled for a mechanical issue, the airlines are required by law to make it right. I got rebooked, a hotel room, and food vouchers at no additional cost. Thanks, @united 3) Travel insurance matters. It’s not a scam, and yes people use it. Often. I’m happy I will be able to submit a claim to get some $$ back for trip interruption. 4) Your attitude is everything. Just like in life, having perspective matters. It’s ok to be upset, of course. But try to stay positive and count your blessings. So in a few hours I’ll board a new flight and be on my way to Amsterdam and the ASTA River Cruise Expo!! I firmly believe that everybody needs a getaway to a resort! You deserve to feel pampered & experience the little luxuries that make your time there extra special. Wear the robe, wear the slippers, take a long shower, burn the incense, sip champagne while you get ready, have a coffee at 5:00 PM, let them give you turn-down service. Eat the desserts! (sounds like my convictions are based on recent actual experiences!) Getting away from normal life is a real treat and a blessing. And your time is valuable! I am so excited that 1900 Park Fare at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort will be opening back up on April 10th. This was my girls favorite restaurant when they were younger and my family has a lot of happy memories eating here.
