On the campus of the University of Pittsburgh on Sunday evening, a wild juxtaposition of scenes occurred as graduates of the class of 2024 spilled out of the Petersen Events Center and down the hill toward the Cathedral of Learning, diplomas in hand, to take photos with their proud, smiling family members. Simultaneously, a few feet away, University of Pittsburgh police officers with batons extended clashed with pro-Palestinian protesters who stepped off of the sidewalk and onto the lawn in front of the Cathedral, attempting to setup a tent covered with graffiti of “Divest Pitt’ and other handwritten messages. While the group has been setup for a number of days inside Schenley Plaza, their march and rally shut down traffic along Bigelow, Forbes, and Fifth Avenue as graduates and parents made their way home following a ceremony of over 2800 students. Deep into the evening, protest leaders had conversations with University police as well as Pittsburgh police chief Larry Scirotto about wanting to have a meeting with University of Pittsburgh Chancellor and other officials regarding divestment of funds. A few counter protesters showed up throughout the day and night but otherwise was a peaceful day of actions in the Oakland neighborhood. Wouldn’t be a Sunday if your feed wasn’t full of roast dinners! 🥘 . . After hearing great things we headed to @silversmiths_restaurant to try their roast options! The place was very busy (always a good sign) and I can confirm they do an excellent roast. . . I went for the Wortley wagyu beef (pictured) at £20 and hubs went for leg of lamb (£22). Both meats were perfectly cooked, although the lamb took the winning medal for me today! . . All the roasts are served with a massive yorkie pud, seasonal veg, mash, roasties, creamy leeks, and cauli cheese and gravy! (As greedy piggies we ordered an extra side portion of cauli cheese for £3) I was v impressed with the variety of options but for me I’d have liked another green veg eg tenderstem broccoli, and all the veg was lukewarm rather than piping hot. But it was seasoned lovely nonetheless. Would have been full marks for me if a little hotter! . . Gravy comes served on the plate - not to everyone’s preference but this suited me fine and there was plenty of it! All in all a solid 8.5/10 from me

I’m certainly no GM or head coach. Merely a photographer. And if you ever watched an episode of ‘Ted Lasso’, you know it’s not easy putting a team together. But even in my adult life getting some exercise playing coed soccer (sometimes against my fellow Steelers employees @emilesburgh & @_myahpapaya), especially as you get older, winning is secondary to having fun and getting to spend time with your friends. Some of whom I’ve played with for the better part of two decades. I say all of this because I was lucky enough to spend the day today with the @steelers 1st round draft pick, @troyfautanu, thanks to @karlroser. Obviously professional sports teams are expected to win but when you have the opportunity to pair incredible talent with a great human being, you do it. And Troy is one of those people. There’s nothing better than seeing nice guys (and their families) succeed in life. 'The Balcony' with a view. . . . Views are views but you need a place to stand unobstructed to enjoy them. I took this as a project when the railings were refreshed last October at the north shore river trail to match the yellow bridges. I was thinking how can I highlight the railings, as typically it get overshadowed by the beautiful view lying in the front. . . . After a lot of experiments I achieved what I wanted to. As you see, this is a panorama, and the distortion that I achieved in stitching them has added a beautiful dimension to the scene. Everything else except the railings are faded and I gave it a nice black and gold treatment. I was very doubtful if I would be able to stitch it properly, however it ended up looking perfect. . . . The top portion of the first photo is the actual panorama achieved by stitching 7 vertical frames. This is a huge file, it can be printed covering a complete wall like a mural. The bottom part is a crop of the left side and the right to show you how it would look if we crop it with standard aspect ratio. The second photo is a 30x80 inch 2 panel acrylic print to show how it will look at your drawing room. . . . I am very happy how this one came out. Also happy that it is now ready as a lot of effort has gone into this from the concept with which it started till the print got hung up on the wall. I hope you like it.
