High-King Gil-Galad By @wetaworkshop Sculpted by @fabiopaivart Limited Edition 439/737 What a day, Part I. I think this is easily the best elven character statue Weta has ever done. Gil-Galad is probably the only character where Weta could really show the splendour of the Noldor, of Ages past and of times gone by. The detail on this piece is immaculate. Gil-Galad is sculpted beautifully, and I can now see why they have used a moderately lighter material - the drapery on this piece is exceptional. The quality of colour, the amount of detail, the composition on its own, and in the overall with Elendil and Sauron, are fantastic. Well, had a weekend of being in, so built a new IKEA cabinet which was a birthday present from all the dosh received, and gave my wall mounted cabinet an LED upgrade. Highly recommend the Billy bookcase, real easy to put together, but expensive to upgrade to the glass shelving and doors, but very much enjoying the effect. Next month I'll upgrade to have lights fitted and workout my lay out of the armies. The down side to having everything on show......
