The first time I saw 'Waking Orodruin', I absolutely fell in love with it. I thought it captured the moment and atmosphere perfectly...Sauron singing the Mountain awake (wish we had seen that, but hey ho...). And of course 'Across Gorgoroth' is one of Ted's most iconic pieces in my mind...although he didn't work on the films, I feel this was the image that was at the back of everyone's head when shooting the climax of The Return of the King and the desolated landscape of Mordor. It's also the setting for The Battle of the Last Alliance, which feels really good with Weta's astonishing triptych. Now, Gil-Galad has joined and completed this magnificent triptych of statues depicting the final battle of The Last Alliance.
