I may be a few hours late on this, but it has been very hard for me to process one of the darkest times of my life. This man was such an influence on me, and his loss has touched me in so many ways. Musically, personally, and as a harbinger for the worst event of my life, this memorial has always been, (and will be), an extremely hard time for me. When I spoke about his passing with a dear friend, colleague and bandmate 30 years ago, I did not foresee what was to come. As I struggle daily to deal with depression and other by products of loss, this is not just a very sad time for me, but a triggering point for all loss. My feelings often eclipse the sheer love and envy I had (and do have) for this man. Although I never met, nor knew him, his talent and insight I received will forever mold who I am. The profound loss and pain I feel about all of this has and will forever change me. As she said yesterday, “To anyone who has wondered what it would’ve looked like to live along side the people they have lost, I’m holding you in my thoughts today. The meaning of our grief is the same,” These words are so beautiful, I cried for a long time. They resounded deeply with me. Frances, I do not know you either, but relate to your grief. You have kept, and I will always keep his and all of our departed one’s souls and spirits alive. I know he is, and always will be with you, and understand what you have said. Was @kurtcobain last tour with #Nirvana March 1st was his last show, and a doctor said he should take 2 weeks off, due to him having laryngitis, and pneumonia. This was the 2 weeks kurt flew to Roma to celebrate with Courtney Love. This is when the famous Rome OD happen where everyone in the U.S. all the tabloids were reporting Kurt was dead. Its sad our elvis, the voice of the 90s had to be under the microscope and couldn't enjoy himself.
