5 things I’ve learned after the divorce But It’s amazing. 4 years ago today I received the court’s decree that my marriage is over. At the time I was deviated…. today it’s a whole different story. I’m happy: mentally, spiritually, physically (, in better shape than I have been in over 20 years), AND …debt FREE!! I’m living my best life possible: trying new things, finding new hobbies, new friends, new places to go , of course new food to eat (lol) and a lot of coffee!! My thought on this Toolbox Tuesday: What always seems as a struggle in the beginning truly makes you stronger for challenges later. Looking back I am NOT the same person I used to be. AND I’m so grateful for that. 💋 Here’s how it started: 1. Get moving. get out of bed. Get a cup of whatever ( coffee) and go do something to get you moving: run. Walk. Hike. Bike. Or even find a new place to get coffee every day. 2. Get healthy. If you are fed up with the way you look, change your eating habits. Take it one step at a time. 3. Get out of your head. Try not to dwell on the past. It’s hard, I Know but Start looking forward to the future. I wrote down all the things I wanted to accomplish in 5 years. 4. Get to know and love yourself. Get creative. Chat with friends. Listen to music. Read a book. 5. Get a positive outlook on EVERYTHING. Today’s discussion: did you get an annulment from the church? I don’t think of myself as a hard core religious person …I don’t spit out Bible verses to show you are a sinner. We are all sinners! however now, as I’m talking with a friend, I realize after we were married he wasn’t really religious at all. He didn’t want our marriage to be recognized in his church/religion. Then bringing our children up in a church like setting didn’t interest him. He never got involved with the church, functions, or even volunteer.
