London Marathon🇬🇧’24 You truly AMAZED ME! I honestly never thought I would run a marathon comparable to NYC, but boy I was wrong. @londonmarathon was ELECTRIC ⚡️ ⚡️⚡️ The people of London were gracious & the spectators were A+💥💥💥 Thank you to the fabulous tour company @Runbuk for allowing me to run my first international marathon & earn my 3rd ⭐️⭐️⭐️ & to @_orlandovillalba for hooking me up with them!! I wasn’t sure how my body would hold up after an 11hr flight, an 8hr time difference & miles & miles of walking the streets of London b4 race day!!! But it held up & gave me a 5 second PR🎉 The only downfall of the race was that my friends were not able to get to me on the course because the app kept freezing & it would show that I was at a different point then I actually was. They tried so hard to get to me but they just couldn’t🥲 Aside from that my @londonmarathon experience was great!! To all my runner friends, if London is on your bucket list reach out to Runbuk, they were awesome!! After being under the weather part of last week,I couldn't wait to lift this morning. But after a stressful day, I certainly would have been much happier to throw on my jammies and plop in front of the TV. Nope...I got on my MYX bike and rode for 45 minutes. I need the cardio to keep my lungs and heart healthy. But what I really needed was to lower my cortisol levels, to reduce the stress and improve my mood. Stress is a silent disruptor on our mental and physical health. I would have rather been outside but the weather wasn't cooperating. Trying to firmly get back on success and well feeling side, it was time for a deload. That means still doing the movements but mitigating them to suck less. Aktueller Gesundheitsstatus 2024 ist, aus gesundheitlicher Sicht, bis heute absolut nicht mein bestes Jahr: 2 Monate mit krassen Schmerzen (Feb/März), danach wieder Schulterprobleme und aktuell habe ich, seit inzwischen 3 Tagen, eine heftige "Magen-Darm-Rebellion"! So langsam reicht es auch 😤 Selbstverständlich hat so etwas auch berufliche Auswirkungen. Zudem werden mein Training und die selbstgesteckten Ziele so immer wieder unterbrochen und verzögert. Es nervt irgendwann einfach! Was ich mir inzwischen angewöhnt habe, ist eine gewisse Gleichgültigkeit gegenüber meinen gesundheitlichen Problemen, damit ich nicht jegliche Motivation verliere. Langfristiges Hängenlassen ist keine Option und es ist nicht mein Ding, ausgebremst zu werden. Ich möchte voran und weiterkommen, möchte noch etwas erreichen und ja, es fällt mir manchmal schwer zu akzeptieren, dass in meinem Alter nicht mehr alles so glatt läuft, wie noch vor 20/30 Jahren 🤭🤫🫣 Ich versuche, es so gut wie möglich zu ignorieren🖕 Wenn ich der aktuellen Magen-Darm-Geschichte etwas Gutes abgewinnen kann, dann die Tatsache, dass ich kein Shredding mehr betreiben muss 😜 3 Tage um die 2000 kcal, also die Hälfte des üblichen, sorgen wahrscheinlich für einen rasanten Körperfett-Abbau. Mit einer ausreichenden Proteinzufuhr versuche ich, einen Muskelabbau zu verhindern. UPPER BODY WORKOUT 🏋🏽‍♀️ Getting it done, what I can do. Still can’t really lift any amount weight, but I go through the motions the best that I can. I don’t try to lift “heavy” as I don’t want to put size on. I’m actually trying to get “smaller” lol (I never thought I would think that way) I always ALWAYS do a light warmup & shoulder mobility before my upper body workouts. I also don’t bother doing shoulder presses (I do front raises), or upright row (the most stupidest exercise & most shoulder harming exercise). I also don’t over tricep extension (useless and compromises ur shoulder) I’m all about “natural” safe movements- u get like that when u get older and realize the importance of safe exercises for ur joints. I like to do functional exercises/ stretches. I just want to remain healthy, active and consistent. My goal is to be in the gym 5 to 6 days a week and to keep my weights workout under one hour. I used to do the two hour workouts and I am over that now lol. I realize if you put your mind to it, you can get what you need done in an hour if you work out properly, mindfully, And know what your workout plan is instead of just guessing what you’re doing. A lot of people do lots of exercises, but they train that one muscle over and over again instead of doing different exercises to train the different muscles in that same muscle group. Knowledge is power. Do your homework! And have fun in the gym! This is your time this is your space! WOW. What a day one the hills yesterday. Cycle from Dalwhinnie to Culra bothy along the shores of Loch Ericht. ABSOLUTELY breathtaking and all the better for being a private road. Then a four munro circuit, which we cut to three because of the weather conditions. Followed by cycle back to Dalwhinnie 🥵🥵 Super proud to be with my hiking buddy @joyce_coats when she bagged her 100th munro. JC you are incredible and a true inspiration. you've taught me so much about not accepting limits and not allowing fear to stop you. thank you for sharing your 100th munro with me.
