#WingenbackWednesday Our #projectmanagement Division’s Merger Team is generally not required to consult Structural Engineers when planning a safety deposit box (SDB) relocation however, in some areas it is becoming more common - especially in the Lower Mainland area of British Columbia where seismic activity has been compared to that of the San Andreas Fault in the United States. In order to prevent SDBs from shifting or sliding off of a stack during a #seismic event, engineers have created a specialized restraint system. This system involves specially engineered anchor clips that #wingenback installs on the back of each SDB which then attach to two Unistrut posts that we install against the vault wall (or ceiling in some cases) before the SDBs are stacked. I worked directly with Keyshawn Johnson to create a product that would provide the lateral support needed when making explosive cuts but also lightweight enough for linear speed needed for long routes. The #feetyouwear technology was executed in its purest form, but the tailwind/flame inspired sidewall shapes were inspired by putting the sole technology through a wind tunnel. The #threestripes overlayed a closed cell mesh upper for support. I decided on hidden laces for aerodynamics as well as to prevent any untangling of the laces. During these days, I would almost always detail my designs with the signature “speed-tongue”. The translucent outsole exposed the #torsion and #adiprene innovations. The breathable mesh & Speed Stripes gave a modern visual expression for performance , but it was the patent overlay that provided the swag for off-the-field wear, This was most likely 1998 while working under then legendary Creative Director Peter Moore & under the tutelage of @neckbelly and partnering with @kmkburrows . I keep seeing new things every week! This premature miniature Hereford is living the good live! Earlier this week we saw what I at first thought was another hydrops case. Severally enlarged abdomen in a heavily pregnant cow. She had went off feed for 3 days and I could ballot fluid on her right side. We moved to elective C-section.... And found a normal uterus with normal fluid. Premature calf but alive and doing well. Rumen and intestines were very full during surgery. LDA/RDA ruled out. I really didn't know what the main issue was, but seemed like digesta wasn't moving through like it should. 3 days later -- here is the Post mortem. Peritoneal rent with entrapped small intestines leading to intestinal strangulation. Unsure if this was congenital or secondary to a trauma. But this rent has been here for months at least --- no fresh irritation or swelling. Fascinating and unexpected finding. I am glad we proceeded with the C-section earlier as I don't know if I would have been able to diagnose let alone fix this complication. At least we have a live calf out of it all.
