This was my journey too 🧡 Society promotes such a fixer mentality that often we only address the surface layer of our problems, not realising they are so much more deeper than what we can see. Being stuck translates to: I can’t do something I won’t do something. I don’t know what to do. The truth is there is always an option whether it’s you move from the current situation you’re in; if you hate your job for example, start looking for another job if you don’t know what it is that you want to do, what do you enjoy doing, look for something in that field and or if you’re not qualified for it start looking at the qualifications you can take to be able to do the job that you want do. If it’s a relationship, have you had honest conversations with the other person? Alot of the time it’s fear that keeps us stuck, but unfortunately, if you don’t choose to evolve, you’ll always remain exactly the same! But sometimes, we have to stay in a situation and be patient and trust that what it is we do want is coming into fruition, but that will only happen when we are clear on what it is that we want for ourselves. You can be patient in your current job, even though you hate it whilst you look for a new one, you can be patient in your relationship whilst you go to therapy that’s not being stuck that’s being rerouted! I’ve just accepted that I do things my own way, I’ve stopped caring whether people like it or not, or whether people think I’m too much. I accept me 100% and if that makes me weird then so be it. 🤷🏽♀️ When we know who we are truly from the inside out, that is our power that no one can take from us. The problem is, society wants us to be like everyone else, I did that for too long and it only left me feeling depleted and other. Now I stand in my power, I let my light shine out in all of my weird and wonderful ways and honestly, whether you see me deliver a talk, a class or see me down the street. Accountability is a fundamental part of creating lasting transformation and achieving our goals! No accountability means, well, you stay exactly the same, but that’s not the worst part. When you don’t keep accountable consistently, you ultimately betray your own trust, as you are showing yourself that you don’t keep to your word or follow through with action, which in turn leads you to continuously doubting yourself causing you to loose respect for yourself. Heavy, but true. This is a common dilema my clients come to me for. So how can you begin to be accountable? 1. Set yourself small achievable tasks. It could be as small as having an extra glass of water a day. You know you can do this because you drink something everyday. 2. Find an accountability partner. A friend, your partner, a mentor. Someone to ensure to stay on track, it could be setting time to exercise together for example. 3. Set a time frame. I use the reminders app on my phone to prompt me. I also get satisfaction in ticking off each task 😌 Small tasks repeated daily creates lasting change. It takes 21days to build a habit that can last a life time. Let’s talk self awareness! What is it? Being aware of your own thoughts, feelings, behaviour patterns, triggers and glimmers! Self awareness is where all of your power resides. When we are aware of how we feel, how we act and how we navigate life, we can work with our strengths, find the origins of our weaknesses and work through them, allowing us to become the version of ourselves we want to be. I am speaking from experience here! Once I understood why I acted and reacted the way I did I was able to work through my toxic behaviour patterns, create a new narrative for myself and reclaim my power.
