As part of the Cardinal of Minnesota family, I've supported folks with a variety of disabilities like Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Prader-Willi Syndrome, and Down syndrome, among others. Who turned on the dark??? We drove up north a couple of states to the totality zone! Despite the clouds we got to see the moon take a bite out of the sun, but even better we saw day turn into night…in the middle of the afternoon! First things got a bit grey, the temperature got cooler, little clouds of bugs were all over the place and birds started flying around—geese and gulls swooping around sqawking (assumed to be excited about the bugs). Then around 3:20 or 3:30 it got dark, street lamps automatically came on, cars on the road put on their headlights, peepers and crickets sang! All for about 4 minutes and then some cosmic being turned on the sunlight again! So very cool!! [see video, second from end and turn on audio). Of course some humans’ reactions were to blow up things, i.e. fireworks. I guess in the face of major galactic natural phenomena, humans feel they must shout “Hello darkness my old friend…hear me roar I am here!” Turn up your audio for the video, 4th item.
