Über Kaohsiung zurück nach Taipeh 🇹🇼 04.04. - 09.04.2024 (🌏Tag 81 - 86) Bedingt durch Zugausfälle in Folge des Erdbebens konnten wir erst einen Tag später als geplant Hualien verlassen. Die fünfstündige Zugfahrt um den Südteil Taiwans nach Kaohsiung war landschaftlich abwechslungsreich und lohnenswert (705 TWD p.P.). Unsere Unterkunft in Kaohsiung lag im Sanduo Shopping District mit Blick auf die umliegenden Hochhäuser und den Tuntex Sky Tower (Foto/Video 6+7). Auch in dieser Stadt waren wir mit der Easycard unterwegs. Der auf 1 Tag verkürzte Aufenthalt in der Stadt war für Recherche-, Planungs- und Buchungsaufgaben zur Weiterreise ins nächste Land ausgefüllt. Wir entschieden uns, mit dem Zug zurück nach Taipeh zu fahren (ca. 5 Std., 843 TWD p.P.). Taroko Nationalpark und Erdbeben mit Magnitude von 7,2: Hualien 🇹🇼 31.03. - 04.04.2024 (🌏Tag 77 - 81) Von Jiufen aus fuhren wir mit Bus und Bahn weiter nach Hualien an der Ostküste Taiwans. Hualien war ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Touren in den rd. 1 Stunde mit dem Bus entfernten Taroko-Nationalpark mit seinen Trails durch die wildromantische, spektakuläre Bergwelt, seinen engen Schluchten und steil aufragenden Felswänden. Wir suchten uns für den 01. und 02.04. drei Abschnitte aus, deren Ausgangspunkte perfekt mit den Shuttlebussen 302 und 310 von Hualien angefahren wurden: ▪️Tunnel of Nine Turns (Fotos/Videos 1 - 4) ▪️Yanzikou Trail (Swallow Grotto) (Fotos 5 - 6) ▪️Shakadang Trail mit Teilen des Xiaozhuilu Trails (Fotos/Videos 7 - 10) Am ursprünglich geplanten Abreisetag, den 03.04., wurden wir um 7:58 Uhr in unserer Unterkunft von dem schwersten Erdbeben in Taiwan seit 25 Jahren überrascht (Stärke 7,2). Wir hatten einfach Glück: Glück nicht mehr im Taroko-Nationalpark gewesen zu sein und Glück mit dem gewählten Stadtteil in Hualien, in dem die Häuser unbeschädigt blieben. Hunderte von Nachbeben bis zur Stärke von knapp über 5, die wir selbst auch noch Tage danach auf der anderen Seite Taiwans spürten, machten die Katastrophe immer präsent. Wir waren zwar tief geschockt, blieben aber unversehrt. Dieses Glück hatten nicht alle. Ziel waren 2 Orte, die durch den Bergbau ihre erste Blütezeit hatten und zuvor mal 9 bzw. 10 Haushalte umfassten: #jiufen (chinesisch = "9 Teile", die ursprünglich zur Versorgung der Haushalte erforderlich waren), wo 1893 bis in die 1930er Jahre unter japanischer Herrschaft Gold gefunden wurde und der Ort durch den Goldrausch sprunghaft wuchs. Die japanischen Einflüsse in den engen Gassen, das Gerücht um die angebliche Inspiration für einen Anime-Film und der Drehort des Films "Stadt der Traurigkeit" sind heute Touristenmagnet vor allem für Taiwanesen, Japaner und Koreaner. Heute ziehen die Old Street entlang der Bahnlinie Touristen für den Aufstieg von Himmelslaternen an, und der zu Fuß in 30 Minuten erreichbare Wasserfallpark ist beliebtes Ausflugsziel. Unser Einstieg in Taiwan: Taipeh 🇹🇼 25.03.- 29.03.2024 (🌏Tag 71 - 75) Die Hauptstadt Taiwans erreichten wir von Hongkong aus in knapp 2 Std. Flugzeit. Wir freuten uns bereits seit langem auf Taiwan und waren gespannt auf die Atmosphäre des Landes.Taipeh empfing uns zunächst mit diesigem Schmuddelwetter, so dass der erste Eindruck zwischen Ostblockcharme und Metropole schwankte. Erst nach und nach zeigte sich der Charme der einzelnen Stadtviertel: Finanzdistrikt rund um den Tower101, hippes Szeneviertel Ximending, entspanntes Dongmen-Viertel mit vielen Cafés. Dazwischen immer wieder Tempel, welche unvermutet zwischen den Hochhausschluchten auftauchten. Auch für Taiwan deckten wir uns direkt am Flughafen mit der Easycard ein, mit der - wie in Hongkong - eine vereinfachte landesweite Nutzung vieler öffentlicher Verkehrsmittel verbunden und mit TWD in beliebiger Höhe und Häufigkeit aufladbar ist. Das Metro-Netz nutzten wir, neben der fußläufigen Entdeckung der Stadt mit 33 km. Dabei fiel uns die entspannte Atmosphäre der Stadt, die besondere Rücksichtnahme der Menschen auf Andere (zB nur gedämpfte Unterhaltung in den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln, kein Drängeln, das Anstehen in Reihe) und die gute und sichere Organisation des ÖPNV besonders positiv auf.
