Some mattes look close but their isn't really any direct dupes. I use Cansons coloured Tex (Touch) paper, using the background colour as a part of my work either by reducing the opacity of the watercolour and letting the background colour seep through to create new tones. Or as a way of stark contrast. In this way I am able to create volume - leaves appearing to take up the air around them. And on the flip side, create super delicate petals of flowers that are almost translucent. Coming in late for this one! Shoutout to @mermaidhair_donutcare for telling me what she would want to see in a Leo themed color story as it gave me a good place to start!! Amanda said that she pictured a green/orange/gold color story with pops of purple to represent the royalty aspect of the lion in the jungle. I started off pulling the shimmers I felt matched this color story from the Industrial 2.0 palette from @isamayabeauty ! All of the shimmers are from that palette. It's a matte grungy green dream! 😍 I love that it's got olive greens, khaki greens, forest greens, brighter greens & even a sage green in the metallic! The ONLY thing I'd change is to add one extra more brighter green metallic just because it would add even more variety to the looks I could create! • Before this I previously only had the Oceanic palette (in the old formula) & I LOVED IT! It's still a top fav in my whole collection! I really really liked the mattes & with the reformulation people I trust who reviewed it said the mattes didn't change too much, so I was so down to sign up for this mostly matte palette from them! And it has not disappointed! They are still the soft, thinner, smooth but very pigmented & easy to blend mattes that I enjoy! I don't really want to have to build & build my shadows to get the pigment I want so I want full pigment but easy blendability is also key to me! They work themselves & just blend to effortlessly when I go from light to dark. Working darkest to lightest require a tad more effort but they still work that way too! • I also never didn't like the metallics in the OG formula but they were nothing special or sparkly & that's my fav for metallics & with the reformulation these are now that! Date look with the #tropicalvibespalette by @acebeaute. I really enjoyed doing this halo eye, and was so pleased with how this look turned out, although I probably should have switched lip colors when it comes to this and yesterday’s Tropical Vibes look! 😅 This is a Kaleidos Lip Clay as well—Pink Himalayan. Again, I’m super glad I picked up this palette. I don’t know what it is about an incredibly grungy story that captures the hearts of so many of us, but the pull is strong! Ace Beaute, in my opinion, has a good, but not GREAT formula. The mattes can get just a leeeeeeeetle bit patchy, and I sometimes wish the shimmers were just a tad more punchy. But they really do come up with some excellent color stories, and I believe the attention they’ve been receiving lately is well deserved. I’m still excited to do even more looks, but I have to say, I’d be even more excited if there was just one more shimmer. I know, I know, I can pull from another palette, but if one of those almost identical greens could have been replaced with a khaki shimmer? That would have been nice. 😊 Curious to know your thoughts on this palette!
#tropicalvibespalette by @acebeaute. Weird lipstick choice? Maybe. It’s Queen of the Night by Kaleidos and I honestly thought it would be more purple. I’m glad I made this lip clay bundle purchase and I already want to buy more, but the shades are showing up on me so very differently than they have in all the reviews I’ve seen. They seem warmer and in some cases darker and other cases lighter. 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ Anyway, really glad I finally caved and bought this palette. Who doesn’t live a grungy color story? I decided to use the least grungy colors for this look. Seychelles is such an awesome Aqua shimmer. I absolutely LURVE it! I’m was disappointed to see there were only three shimmers, but the mattes are all so pretty that I can deal….except from my POV, Olive and Army are the exact same color. So boo to that. I’m looking forward to doing more with this palette. I wish I LOVED the matte formula more. It’s not bad at all, but when I have a matte heavy palette I want to be truly crazy about the matte formula because it makes me miss my sparkle less. As always, more looks to come. #MOTD Slimey limey green! I recently rediscovered my @jdglowcosmetics prismatic shadow (is it bad that I forgot I have it? 🤔) so I've been thinking about this look since then.
