Έλαβε επτά υποψηφιότητες για τα βραβεία Όσκαρ, αλλά δεν κέρδισε κανένα. - Το 2015, η ταινία συμπεριλήφθηκε στη συλλογή του Εθνικού Μητρώου Κινηματογράφου της Βιβλιοθήκης του Κογκρέσου των ΗΠΑ ως “πολιτισμικά, ιστορικά και αισθητικά σημαντική”. - Παρά το γεγονός ότι η ταινία δεν είχε μεγάλη επιτυχία στο box office κατά την αρχική της κυκλοφορία, απέκτησε τεράστια δημοτικότητα και αναγνώριση μέσω των ενοικιάσεων βίντεο. - Ο Stephen King πούλησε τα δικαιώματα για την προσαρμογή της νουβέλας στον Frank Darabont μόνο με 1 δολάριο, και όταν η ταινία έγινε επιτυχία, ο King έστειλε πίσω την επιταγή στον Darabont με ένα σημείωμα που έλεγε: “Σε περίπτωση που χρειαστείς χρήματα για εγγύηση. From start to finish, this movie delivers the one liners. The first time my mate and I watched this for the first time, we instantly rewound the tape and watched it again. Recall the feeling of never wanting the movie to end. Don’t get many like that anymore. Today I’m 44 and my kids are in school quoting this line “Bye Felicia!” and don’t even know where it came from. Δεν βγαίνουν πλέον τέτοιες ταινίες δράσης. Μ’έναν Σβαρτζενέγκερ να κουβαλάει δέντρα, να ξεριζώνει τηλεφωνικούς θαλάμους, να ρίχνει καθαρό “τίμιο” ξύλο και να σκοτώνει 102 άτομα απλά η ταινία είναι απόλαυση! Οι ατάκες δε που έχει…απλά αφοπλιστικές. Η συγκεκριμένη έκδοση της CBS FOX, σπάνια και συλλεκτική. Αρκεί να αναφέρω ότι σε δημοπρασία στο eΒay (σφραγισμένη φυσικά) έφτασε μέχρι τα $7.795! Σχετικά με το παρασκήνιο αξίζει να αναφέρουμε τα εξής: - Το Northridge Fashion Center χρησιμοποιήθηκε ως τοποθεσία για τα γυρίσματα τόσο του “Commando” όσο και του “Terminator 2”. Αυτό το εμπορικό κέντρο ήταν δημοφιλές σημείο συνάντησης για τους εφήβους της δεκαετίας του ‘80. - Ο Σβαρτζενέγκερ δεν ενδιαφέρθηκε για το σενάριο του προτεινόμενου σίκουελ της ταινίας, το οποίο εστίαζε στην παγίδευση των χαρακτήρων της Τζένι και της Σίντι μέσα σε ένα εταιρικό κτίριο, με τον Μάτριξ να πρέπει να τις διασώσει. - Το σενάριο του “Commando 2” αναδιατύπωθηκε και έγινε η βάση για τη δημιουργία της πρώτης ταινίας της σειράς “Die Hard”, με πρωταγωνιστή τον Μπρους Γουίλις! - Ο Άρνολντ δεν ήταν η πρώτη επιλογή για τον ρόλο του Τζον Μάτριξ. Αρχικά, ο ρόλος προσφέρθηκε στον Γκιν Σίμονς και μετά στον Νικ Νόλτε. - Σε κάποιες σκηνές, ο Σβαρτζενέγκερ φαίνεται να έχει μια πληγή στο μέτωπο. Αυτό ήταν ένα πραγματικό τραύμα, το οποίο ο ηθοποιός απέκτησε όταν ένας συμπρωταγωνιστής τον έκοψε κατά λάθος κατά τη διάρκεια ενός σκηνικού αγώνα. Αντί να κρύψουν αυτό, οι σκηνοθέτες αποφάσισαν να το ενσωματώσουν στην ταινία. - Φυσικά οι σκηνές δράσης εκτελέστηκαν από τον ίδιο τον Σβαρτζενέγκερ χωρίς τη χρήση κασκαντέρ. Happy VHSunday, Tapeheads! Here’s a fun fact that we just realized: the opening credits for the creepy 70s made-for-TV horror BAD RONALD are in the same font as the iconic VHS logo! The font is called Lee, and was created by Leo Weisz in 1974. It was then used for the VHS logo in 1976. If you’re looking to use the Lee font, try Lester Bold, which is a close digitization!
