Glavni grad Omana je Muskat. Muskat je potpuno drugačiji od prestonica zemalja u okruženju. Grad je koji se širi, a ne ide u visinu. U Muskatu nemate nebodere, svetla velikoga grada i slično. Muskat je i dalje pravi orijent, čak i u njegovim najnovijim delovima. Ovde živi oko milion i po ljudi, među kojima je i procenat ljudi sa naših prostora. Oman ima dobre uslove za zapošljavanje stranaca, međutim pitanje je koliko će to trajati. Na snazi je takozvana “Omanizacija”, težnja da što više lokalaca radi na svim pozicijama, od najnižih do najviših. Zato na kasama, u hotelima, u taksijima, osim Pakistanaca, Bangladešana, Filipinaca, vidite i dosta lokalaca. U delovima Omana je veoma toplo, od maja kreću paklene temperature i traju do kraja septembra. Kažem u delovima, jer Oman ima i planine u kojima je klima drugačija. Zbog njih je i ta toplote podnošljivija, ne osećam se kao da sam ušla u saunu u odnosu na osećaj u komšijskim zemljama. Za prvi dan boravka u Muskatu smo izabrale šetnju pijacom (souk) u Mutri, potom posetu zgradi Opere i za kraj evropsko/orijentalni vajb u delu grada koji mi se najviše dopao i podsetio na Porto Montenegro, Al Mouj. U Al Mouju smo se našle sa Anjom i Igorom, parom iz Srbije, koji su nam pomogli da napravimo plan za naredne dane i koji je, čini mi se, fantastičan za obilazak svih vrednih lokacija. Visiting Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the most famous (and beautiful) wadis (washes) in Oman 💚🏜 Nestled in the desert cliffs of the Eastern Hajar Mountains, you can find the natural, crystal-clear turquoise pools (you can swim!) of Wadi Bani Khalid, fed by spring water from the surrounding mountains… In some of the pools, “pedicure” fish will nibble at your feet… And you can also hike through the wash, to include some stream crossings… and if you do the whole hike, you’ll have to swim at parts! A perfect escape — ya’ll, this was super familiar to me, as somebody who used to hike and explore a lot in Arizona… but I’m not in Arizona anymore, even if it sure looks like it 🤩 (There is apparently a dress code, implemented by the conservative Bedouin communities who live nearby, but I did not see many visitors following it) Did I swim? Not this time, because I wanted to be mindful of the dress code… but I did get the fish pedicure (and man, those fish could BITE — SWIPE for the video and audio!!) 😂🐟😅 #visitoman #wadibanikhalid

Оман моими глазами. Часть 1. Моя поездка совпала с Рамаданом и возможно, если бы не праздник, людей на улицах было бы больше и больше бы прочувствовал атмосферу. Но тем не менее, было очень комфортно. Туристов можно сказать нет. Все очень хорошо разговаривают по-английски и доброжелательны. Из минусов очень частно не хватало пешеходных дорожек, но это не помешало побить рекорд по прогулкам. В этот раз, в один из дней прошёл порядка 36-38 км.

Nou ja, eigenlijk waren de ‘wadi’s’ in Oman de doorslaggevende factor om naar Oman af te reizen 🙈 Wadi Shab ligt in het plaatsje Tiwi en om hier te komen moet je eerst met een bootje naar de overkant 🛶 Wanneer je aan de overkant bent start de wandeling van ongeveer 1 uur. Na een uur kom je bij de eerste zwempoel aan en vanaf hier begint het avontuur pas echt: je vervolgt je weg door het water. Na ongeveer een half uur lopen en zwemmen door het water, bereik je een zeer smalle doorgang waar je hoofd letterlijk net doorheen past.
