On February 28, 2024, at approximately 7:08 P.M., the Vallejo Police Department (VPD) responded to a call for service concerning a shooting near the intersection of Alabama Street and Butte Street. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound and provided medical aid until medical personnel arrived. Unfortunately, the male victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Vallejo Police Department's Detective Division arrived at the scene and took over this investigation. The detectives collected evidence from the scene, interviewed witnesses, and detained the involved responsible party. This case was then presented to the Solano County District Attorney's Office. The Solano County District Attorney's Office reviewed the evidence and deemed this shooting to be in self defense and did not file formal charges against the victim. On April 23, 2024, Vallejo PD Patrol officers were dispatched to an armed carjacking near Halliday Street and Cassady Street. The victim informed our officers that while seated in his vehicle, he was approached by an unknown male holding a firearm. The suspect aimed the firearm at the victim, demanding he exit his Dodge Avenger. The suspect then robbed and carjacked the victim. Two days later, on April 25, 2024, our officers located the listed Dodge Avenger traveling near Tennessee Street and Humbolt Street. Officers attempted to conduct a felony traffic stop on the vehicle, which was occupied by two suspects. However, the driver of the stolen Avenger refused to pull over and initiated a pursuit. The pursuit concluded when the suspect collided with a vehicle and the center median on I80 near the Gilman St. exit in Berkeley. The two suspects exited the stolen Dodge and recklessly ran across the highway, putting themselves and other motorists at risk. They then decided to hide in the Golden Gate Fields property. A perimeter was established at the scene, leading to the arrest of both suspects. Upon arrest, it was discovered that the suspects were juveniles. Their parents were promptly contacted and informed of their children's status. The juveniles were transported to a local hospital for medical clearance before being booked into the Solano County Juvenile Detention Facility. The victim was notified about the towing of his vehicle from the scene. Fortunately, no serious injuries were sustained during this incident. On April 22, 2024, Vallejo Police Department (VPD) officers noticed an Infiniti Q50 with a shattered sunroof drive into the parking lot of a business on the 2200 block of Tennessee Street. The officers conducted a records check on the Q50's license plate and discovered that the plate was reported stolen from a Subaru. Officers positioned their patrol vehicle beside the Q50 and turned on their emergency lights. The driver of the Q50 rammed the patrol vehicle six times in a failed attempt to flee the scene. The suspect even rammed the Q50 into a wall to escape before surrendering. Upon searching the Q50, officers found an unserialized loaded firearm on the back seat. Officers also ran the Q50's vehicle identification number (VIN) and discovered it was also reported stolen out of Richmond, CA. They arrested the driver for multiple felony charges. A records check on the suspect revealed that he had multiple warrants for his arrest - one for theft out of Solano County, another for burglary out of Marin County, and a third for probation violation out of Sonoma County. The driver was Mirandized and stated he bought the Q50 from an unknown person on Facebook, and the firearm came with the vehicle. The suspect was transported to the county jail, and the firearm was booked into evidence. The owner of the Q50 was contacted and the vehicle was towed from the scene. #VallejoPoliceDepartment #VallejoPolice #Vallejo #VPD
