I got them from my neighbor at our old house about 6 years ago and moved them two years ago to this house. They are slowly reseeding and I will be glad to transplant them to more places. Outdoor updates from the last week-2 weeks 🌱 We planted two fruit trees: a Montmorency cherry and Elberta peach. Sadly, we lost one of our hens the week before last (no apparent cause, all other girls are fine) so we went out to buy a peach tree and came home with an extra tree. It feels right to honor her so that she will live on as a part of our micro homestead. We experienced our first loss with our flock last Spring, and we buried her deep under a tree as well. A little late, but I also pruned trees last week. Ryan used the chainsaw to take off a dead limb on the old apple tree. The American plum was long overdue for removing dead wood. It’s had a hard time being moved from last house two years ago, and I’m hoping we’ll get plums for the first time this year.

It’s been a marathon of uppotting 😀 see end for plant sale status update ⤵️ A few days ago I got through the rest of my pepper tray and uppotted probably a hundred or 150 peppers. Tomatoes are done. Well, not mine yet, but everything for the sale haha. The kids have been helping off and on. I love these moments, and I’m glad Ryan was walking by and captured it. Makes my heart happy gardening with them and seeing them pick up on things so quickly. Quick update for anyone that preordered or has asked to be notified when the sale goes live: I am working hard on getting through the rest of the uppotting and inventorying, and should have the site go live in the next week or week and a half.
