Possibly the Luckiest Bride in the UK? Another story of positivity for you all! We've just recieved these lovely images (snaps taken on the day - official photos still to be produced) from one of our Brides, Keshini, who married James (against all the odds) on Saturday 21st March. In the midst of Mother's Day mayhem (organised, of course!) in the shop, we created some beautiful bouquets, buttonholes, corsages and displays for Keshini's wedding. And it has to be said that the odds were stacked against her and James... in the wake of the declaration on Friday 20th March by the Government that all public gathering places were to close, including restaurants, bars, clubs and function venues (and just prior to the complete lockdown announced on Monday 23rd March), along with the fact that Mother's Day is usually our most busy weekend of the year, Keshini and James were to be married on Saturday 21st March. Despite the fact that it looked as though the wedding might be cancelled on the day, after protracted conference calls and checks were carried out by venue organisers it was decided that the wedding could go ahead. It quite probably was not only the last wedding to successfully take place in the region before lockdown - it may also have been one of the last (if not the last) wedding to take place in the UK. Sadly, we have now had seven cancellations (pending further arranged dates) for weddings at Pavilion Flowers, which is of course upsetting and stressful for our Brides, Grooms and their families. But we look forward to brighter days, our re-opening and finally being able to help to give our Brides the day they deserve. As for Keshini and James, what can you say? It was surely meant to be, regardless of the odds. I’m planning today. . Last year was hard to get anything planned as everything was so up in the air while we were waiting for Henry’s diagnosis of autism that it felt like I just couldn’t commit to doing anything extra that was for me or my business. . It was suffocating & liberating at the same time - I’m not sure if that makes sense? It gave me the opportunity to sit back & see what I need to do to push myself forward in my work & spend more time with my family. . I tried to get personal photo shoots & styled photo shoots done but I just couldn’t focus on anything else but my lovely weddings I had & things at home so photo shoots outside of weddings got pushed to the back burner! . I feel ready for 2020, whatever it brings personally & business wise. I have some really amazing couples to photograph on their wedding days that I’m so blessed to be a part of! . I also have some exciting news soon that I can share about working closely & volunteering my photography services with an Autism charity that is local to us! . I plan on shooting more with my lovely industry friends this year outside of weddings & hopefully meeting some new ones too! .
