. صورتی ترین مسجد دنیا این جاست! این مسجد رنگین کمانی زیبا به کسانی هدیه می کند که صبح زود از خواب بیدار می شوند و سری به آن می زنند . مسجد صورتیِ ایران ! « نصیرالملک (مسجد صورتیِ ایران) مثل تماشا کردن از داخل یک کلایدسکوپ است .» روزنامه هافینگتن پست چنین نوشته و در ادامه مطلبش به زیبایی های کم نظیر این بنای تاریخی و مذهبی در شیراز اشاره کرده است . این بنا به دستور علی ملاباشی ملقب به نصیرالملک، که از سلسله ملاباشیون بود، ساخته شد. معماری آن کار محمد حسن معمار بوده است. ساخت آن حدود ۱۲ سال و از سال ۱۲۵۵ تا ۱۲۶۷ خورشیدی به طول انجامیده است. مرمت و حفظ و نگهداری این بنا با رعایت استانداردهای بین‌المللی مرمت آثار تاریخی از سال‌ها پیش توسط موقوفه نصیرالملک به تولیت محمود قوام آغاز شده و همچنان ادامه دارد. مسجد نصیر الملک از نظر کاشیکاری و مقرنس کاری از زیباترین مساجد ایران است. مسجد دارای صحن وسیعی می باشد که در سمت شمال آن قرار دارد. در ورودی دارای طاق نمایی بزرگ بوده که سقف آن با کاشی های رنگارنگ مزین گشته، این مسجد دارای دو شبستان شرقی و غربی است . استفاده از شیشه های رنگارنگ در طراحی داخلی معماری ایرانی و همچنین در کلیساها شایع بوده است. اما شاید استفاده از این زیبایی منحصر به فرد در مساجد کمی شگفت انگیز به نظر برسد . پ ن : ساعت کاری مسجد نصیرالملک از ۸ تا صبح تا ۱۷ می باشد اما اگر می‌خواهید عکسهای بهتری بگیرید بهتر است در ساعات اولیه خود را به اینجا برسانید هم به خاطر نور بهتر و هم فرار از شلوغی و ازدحام جمعیت #گردشگری #تور #سفر #مسجد_نصیرالملک #مسافر #ایرانگردی #iran #tourism #unwto #wftga #mosque #shieraz #history #tourist_guide

Fukuoka in Japan won the bid, as announced at our Convention in Siracusa in January this year. With 2026 in mind, we will share about our next convention from time to time. Today's memory sparked a browse through interesting posts shared on Visit Fukuoka Japan. Just look at these beautifully crafted dolls you will find in Fukuoka when you travel to Japan for our convention! "Hakata Dolls - Traditional Fukuoka Handicrafts that represent Japan. Hakata dolls are unglazed pottery dolls with a history of over 400 years. They are characterized by delicate and rich facial expressions, dynamic poses, and bright colors. Even the dolls’ hair and kimono are crafted from clay, and they are all hand painted. They have long attracted attention at exhibitions, including the 1900 Paris Exposition, and were frequently exported overseas. There are many steps involved in Hakata doll crafting, and it takes 2-3 months for skilled artisans to complete them. On May 3rd, each year Monsanto comes alive in the Festa das cruzes or Festa do castelo. This festivity commemorates the triumph over a long roman siege on Monsanto. The story goes that the siege lasted for so long that the population was starving to death and the army couldn’t´ t hold the enemy, due to the lack of energy to fight. Then the unthinkable happened: the starving villagers of Monsanto threw their last lonely heifer over the walls, taunting their enemies, making them believe that they had spared food. The besiegers got so frustrated after years of sieging, that they promptly abandoned the town and the battle was over. During the festivity people go up to the castle singing and dancing to the sound of the adufes (portuguese musical instrument), to throw clay pots decorated with flowers symbolizing the heifer off the walls, in a colorful celebration. Spotlight on one of our Jane Orde Scholarship Recipients! Today, we share the testimonial of 𝗘𝗹𝘆𝗼𝗿𝗯𝗲𝗸 𝗛𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘃 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗨𝘇𝗯𝗲𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻, who recounts his experience during the 2024 Convention in Siracusa. The Jane Orde Scholarship (JOS) was created, by the Androus Foundation, in memory of President Emeritus Jane Orde, primarily to help tourist guides from countries which are financially challenged and who are therefore unable to attend our conventions. "Hello, I am Elyorbek from Uzbekistan (in the picture on the right). I work as a national guide in Uzbekistan. As a professional, I try to follow the updates about guiding, technologies and news about tourism. Also, I follow the WFTGA social media pages. That reason led me to apply for the Jane Orde scholarship. I think I was very lucky to be chosen as one of the selectees. When I got the email from Alushca Ritchie regarding my being chosen as a participant in convention 2024 I tried to check my email if it was spam or not. In that way, I started my trip to Italy. When I came to Italy, Siracusa all the organizers, and participants greeted me like besties, which helped me to overcome my cultureshock. All the workshops, excursions, and other events that I have participated in during the convention will be very useful for my future career. I would like to highlight professional networking and exchanging the experience is highly valuable for me. I would like to thank the WFTGA president, managers, organizers and all who have assisted me in giving me such a great opportunity. Hope to see you all in Japan in 2026." Carnation revolution: 50 years of democracy in Portugal. Today we commemorate the country's most famous military coup: the Carnation Revolution. On this historic day, a group of brave soldiers dared to put an end to the “Estado Novo”, the dictatorship that had been standing in Portugal for over 40 straight years. At the end of the 70´s, Portugal was shrouded in a political/social turmoil: The colonial war seemed to have no end and despite the casualties and losses on the battlefield, the government had no intention of sending the troops back. The soldiers were lost and tired of fighting a war that some , didn't even believe in. The censorship and poverty were not helping either. After a first attempt of revolution (Levantamento das Caldas), people were feeling the winds of change that seemed to be blowing. On April 24th 1974, another military operation was on the way, but this time for good. Organized by Armed Forces Movement (Portuguese: Movimento das Forças Armadas, MFA), this notable operation had a curious secret sign: two songs “E depois do Adeus” and “Grândola Vila Morena” were aired and broadcasted at 22:55h and 00:20h by two radio companies, alerting the rebel captains on when to begin the coup. After several events, on April 25th, by 16:30h, Marcelo Caetano, the prime minister at the time,who had taken refuge at the Carmo Barracks, announced its surrender and the dictatorship was over. On the streets, thousands of infectiously happy people celebrated freedom, which had been taken for so long. The operation Was the revolution peaceful or violent ? Taking into account the number of people that were on the streets and the possibility of a counter-revolution by the government, one can say that it was a peaceful military action. However, it is wrong to state that there were no casualties, or that retaliation wasn´t close. After the MFA´s success in ending the regime, after Marcelo Caetano´s surrender, a group of people besieged the headquarters of PIDE/DGS (Portuguese political police), seeking justice. Officials from the General Directorate of Security fired machine-gun bursts at the demonstrators: 4 people were killed and it is believed that 45 were injured throughout the whole revolution. And despite the image of a peaceful coup, few know that this was close to not being the case. At a time when Lisbon's Terreiro do Paço Square was full of civilians and military personnel, the frigate Gago Coutinho was ordered by the Navy General Staff to stay close to the site. On the morning of the 25th, the Commander was ordered to open fire on the site: the order was not carried out, as there were many people in Terreiro do Paço. This is ,Kashk Bademjan, a traditional food of Iran. In the past, it was a seasonal food for summer and depending on the region there were different side dishes for it, cantaloupe, grape, chives or other vegetables,... . Today because of refrigerator, freezer and also easy transportation the main ingredient eggplant all year is available. The other side dish, in the picture is a kind of jam that is made of orange blossom petals. Both food and jam are very delicious 😋. The cooks: my Mom and my sister. به مناسبت روز جهانی خانه ها و محوطه های تاریخی ، به دیدن خانه تاریخی کلبادی و حمام وزیری در شهرستان ساری رفتیم که هر دو بنا در دوره قاجار ساخته شده بودند و هر دو خود و یا بخشی از خانه شخصی ثروتمندان آن دوره این شهر بودند. بنای خانه کلبادی همچون سایر خانه های شمال ایران در آن دوره به دلیل آب و هوای این ناحیه معماری ساختار برون گرا با سقف شیب دار دارد و حمام وزیری الگوی کهن سقف گنبدی، سربینه ، میان در، گرمخانه ، خزینه، جامخانه، تون و البته این حمام سرویس بهداشتی اختصاصی هم داشت. خانه کلبادی از سوی این خانواده به اداره میراث فرهنگی سپرده شده تا در جهت نگهداری و کاربردی کردن آن اقدام کنند که به موزه ساری بدل شده است. عکسبرداری بنفشه و خودم🙂 #wftga

Did you know? Why Carnation revolution? Contrary to what was recommended by the military, people did not stay at home. They gathered by their thousands on the streets and joined them in the celebrations. But it is believed that would be because of a woman, that the red carnation would become the symbol of the revolution. Her name ? Celeste Caeiro. She worked in local restaurant in Lisbon's downtown. That day, the restaurant was celebrating its first anniversary and so bunches of carnations had been bought to offer to customers. But given the circumstances , the restaurant had closed doors and her boss sent her home. As she was heading towards the Rossio Square, a soldier that was passing by, asked her for a cigarette. She only had flowers in her hands, so she decided to start handing out carnations to the soldiers, who immediately put them in the barrels of their guns and uniforms. 🌏 Recap of the Asia Area Representatives' Meeting 📅 On April 14, 2024, Asia's dedicated representatives gathered to kick off a new term of voluntary service. They delved into discussions on how to best fulfill their duties across the continent.
