I finished off strong for my peak week of block number one and my-my was I 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙙! Every week the workouts have been obviously increasing in weight but I did not expect to break a 10,000 pound total volume until my next block. It was rather busy in gym this time - I had to shift the order of exercises a little so that I could complete before closing time. But when I hit that button in my app to finish the workout, I was stuck on smile for the next hour seeing what I accomplished. I’ll be honest. I don’t love the idea of having a goal weight. For many reasons. If that number was one you were in high school or college, or before kids... Or you had to resort to extremes to achieve... Then it's probably not one that is achievable or sustainable in this season in your life. And the methods you used back then when your body could get away with it, likely don't align with how you want to look now. Let’s say your goal is to look more fit and toned, while having some curves in the right places. But at your lowest weight you were doing mostly cardio and not fueling your body with good nutrition and enough protein. Using that approach now still won’t give you the look you want, even if it helps you get back to that weight. So in the end, you risk ending up skinny fat- just a smaller but softer version of your former self. And remember, the scale doesn't tell the full story. If you’re newer to strength training, eating enough calories and prioritizing protein, you can lose weight and build muscle at the same time. The scale might stay the same, but your body will look completely different in a good way. And if you’ve already been lifting for years but want to get stronger and build more muscle, then the reality is, that scale will go up a little. But that doesn't mean you put on pounds of fat. Your weight also doesn’t measure all the amazing non scale victories that are happening, which are way more rewarding and make you want to keep going. 💪🏼 Getting stronger 💪🏼 Having more energy and stamina 💪🏼 Improving your relationship with food 💪🏼 Feeling more confident and empowered Those are all things a number can't give you. Stop fixating on the scale and start working to build a body you appreciate and be grateful for what it allows you to do. The goal is to live your best, most fulfilling life. One where you feel well fueled, strong, confident and have the energy and to do what you love. Constantly chasing a number is an exhausting endeavor that won't allow for that long term.

Refuse to live your life by a lower standard than what you deserve and are worth. SURE THING 2 Days 39 & 40: Rest Day & HYBRID STRENGTH CIRCUIT!! FINAL WORKOUT OF THE PROGRAM!!! 🎉🥂🪩 Tonight I did 3 blocks of 6 weighted moves , starting off @12 reps, then endurance moves @45sec. Then after mobility stretching inbetween I upped the weights and lowered the reps to 10, and then again to 8reps. We started with strength sliders and ended with a 9 minutes mobility block! I am SO PROUD OF MYSELF for finishing another 8 weeks for a total of 16 weeks of personal GROWTH! I've trained @robg_89 Muay Thai on and off for years. He's even become a really good friend, but since lockdown, he struggled with getting motivated and gained a lot of weight. By now I’m sure you’ve hear the phrase “choose your hard”. How you can either put in the effort now to make life easier on the other side, or you can keep doing what feels easier and enjoyable in the moment but suffer both the short and long term consequences. And it amazes me how many people will complain about lacking the energy to do what once brought them joy or to purse something that would, feeling uncomfortable in their body and not confident in their skin, or have glaring health issues that require intervention, yet still come up with excuses about why it’s not the right time to get started or fight so hard to cling to their current habits. Don’t get me wrong, I know change isn’t easy. And often we will choose are familiar discomfort rather than stepping into the unknown discomfort that would have the power to change our lives. But do know this. You don’t have the right to be upset about how you look and feel if you aren’t willing to make even the smallest of changes to get yourself out of that situation. You also have to remember that not wanting to do the work in the beginning because it will be time consuming and require effort isn’t a reason for not getting started. Because if you want to maintain your results for a lifetime, you’ll have to accept that it will ALWAYS require some level of intention to maintain. Whether that’s planning ahead, building new habits, delaying instant gratification, doing the challenging workout, etc. But in the end, it will always be worth it to the future version of you who you haven’t met yet.
