That a wrap on A Chorus Line! 🎩 This show holds such a special spot in my heart as a performer. It is entertaining and funny, but it’s also full with raw emotion and shows the reality of performer’s lives, which can be brutal. I had the honour to bring Sheila Bryant to life in cast 78. The bitchy, confident, flirtatious character that I never thought I’d play. Sheila’s story is full of emotion and I really enjoyed getting to tell this story. It’s a character I don’t think I’ll ever forget. We had two casts, and I am proud of each and every single person in this class of 59 students. Each of them brought something unique to that stage every night, and I wish I could watch them all day. Since we had two casts, most of us had people sharing our characters, and I loved watching all the different takes on lines, and the different acting choices. Both casts were equally amazing. It’s been a busy week. I got called in early this week to help augment a student orchestra for a production of #AChorusLine and play flutes. In rehearsal there was no trumpet and clarinets were struggling a bit while I was just twiddling my thumbs, so I grabbed my teacher horns from my car to play a bit more. For performances, we have trumpets but I also added some things from other reed books for additiona color. We’re up to 8 instruments. Not the most I’ve played for a show! Last weekend I got called on Thursday to fill in for a couple rehearsals of a show I’d never heard of with a company I’d never heard of, but they’re doing a cool take on Alice in Wonderland called Adventures with Alice. @weplayers is playing in Golden Gate Park for about a month and then heading to New York to play at the Botanica Gardens later this year. Somewhere in the midst of all this, I had two #windband rehearsals with different groups who both have concerts coming up quickly. Pełni wdzięczności i nowych doświadczeń, kłaniają się nisko, a jeśli „chłód przyprawi Was o dreszcze, przybędą z odsieczą raz jeszcze”. CO ZA POSTAWA! Kiedy oni tak wyrośli? Ależ to były emocje, zabawa, wzruszenia i łzy. Lecz teraz muszę zachować spokój, aby móc dalej opowiadać Wam o ich heroicznych czynach! Jestem wzruszony, że przypadło mi to w udziale (a w szufladzie mam już gotowe nowe peany na ich cześć)… Nasi bohaterowie wyznaczyli już kolejne kierunki ekspansji, o których będę oczywiście Was informował na bieżąco. Festi Festi Fesiwaaale! Wszyscy od Everdell przez Toussaint po Shire wiedzą, że Ciach od maleńkości była największą fanką Festiwali. Festiwali wszelakich. Już jako mała, ledwo człapiąca na swoich tyci nóżkach dziewczynka, z wielkimi, wybałuszonymi oczami podziwiała Festiwale Kuglarzy, Bardów, Śpiewaków, Błaznów, Dziwaków, Odmieńców, a nawet Trubadurzych. Dużych. Znaczy Trubadurów oczywiście, jak najbardziej. Nic więc dziwnego, że kiedy tylko pojawił się na jej festiwalowej mapie zupełnie nowy i niezwykle intrygujący Festiwal, do tego organizowany w jej życiowej przystani, czyli w BoatCity natychmiast podwinęła rękawy, zwołała Drużynę PierśCienia i przystąpiła do festiwalowych zmagań, których rezultaty przerosły najśmielsze oczekiwania wszystkich mieszkańców Novigradu. „Teatropolis”, bo taką nazwę nosił ów tajemniczy event miał okazać się zaledwie przedsmakiem tego co czekało tuż za rogiem.
