💡Fun Fact Monday 💡 Did you know that your head is as heavy as a bowling ball? An adult head weighs between 5kg and 6.3kg and the typical weight of a bowling ball weighs from 6 lbs (2.7kg) to 16 lbs (7.3kg). Us humans all have very large heads, which have evolved to protect our very large brains. The head position was designed to be held high to scan the horizon looking for food and danger. But in the modern world we now sit far too much, either at a desk or driving in a car, so we have created significant imbalances in the muscles that were designed to help hold the head up high. The postural weakness that develops results in what we call a forward head carriage or “turtle necks”. This puts huge strain on the joints in the neck and the surrounding muscles. For every inch where the head moves forward on the shoulders, the weight of the head increases by at least 10 pounds (4.5kg). Which means that if the weight of the head is 12 pounds (5.4kg) (on average), and if the head is titled past the shoulders by about 3 inches, then it puts about 42 pounds (19kg) of pressure on the muscles and joints of the neck! So, typically, we hold our heads too far forward and then exert too many strains upon ourselves that we weren’t designed to withhold. Don't fret, however, there’s masses that can be done to diminish the forward shift and reduce the lifestyle strains that we inflict upon ourselves. A general rule to follow is: Think tall, sit and stand tall. Also, getting regular check ups and adjustments is important because sometimes the body will shift the head forwards away from a stiff and tender neck. Nous nous lançons donc dans l'écriture du scénario et dans les répétitions, pour que notre premier spectacle: "LA VALSE DES SENTIMENTS", voit le jour. Nous le présenterons à "Chalon dans la rue", sous les Arcades de Louhans, dans les EPAHD, dans la rue dans la région d'Antibes, au camping de Ramatuel entre autres. EVASION et FLASH BACK seront nos prochains spectacles, où grandira notre envie d'évoluer sur scène et de partager avec le public. While human eyes are only an inch across, an ostrich's eyes are almost 2 inches in diameter, nearly the size of tennis balls. Ostriches have the largest eyes of any terrestrial vertebrate. Even tiny songbirds' eyes are larger in proportion to their heads than ours are. "Our eyes occupy 5 percent of our skull volume, while birds' eyes take up 50 percent of their skulls' volume," says Waldvogel.
